I have been busy with a career transition-but "The Adventures with Zippy" carry on...

Zippy is almost 17 now (I have seen him blossom from a little 5'10" 14 year old thumb sucker, hanging off DH- to an almost 17 year old-6"2 - brain dead 24/7 gamer-ahhh the sentimental part of me is showing....)

On the UP side-Zip has kept a job at the local hamburger joint for a record 2 months now (on my way with a cake to celebrate this weekend!)-

Zip's "other" friend (not Art who got Zip the current job)-"other" friends parents have left their eldest- 18 year old son in charge of the house while leaving this summer-lets call Zips other friend SRK (spoiled, rich kid).

Zip is working the hamburger joint from 4:30 to 8:30-I have completed my shift at new job and am home by 4pm "missing" the Zipster-Ahhhh-make myself some dinner as Dh, who has a second job is working until 10pm-

Zip does not show at 9:00pm -I "assume" he has texted DH with "plans" to stay out-More YES!!!

DH comes in-I say:

"Zip is not home"

DH-"Zip is at SRK's tonight"

We pass the evening-11:30 news is on

According to house rules Zip is supposed to be in by 11:30 on weeknights. House rules are "According to DH"-

DH gets that "anxious" look on his face and calls the Zipster

DH-"Hey Zippy-what's the plan?"

(OH MY GOD SO NOT LIKE WHAT I WOULD BE SAYING TO MY BIO "CHARLIES" BY THEN!)

Remember this kid is not yet 17-we have curfew in this town....

Zip to DH

"Ahhh" five minute silence-Zip speaks "slowly"-- "plans" (that DH and I knew nothing about)-have fallen through-)SRK was hoping he and Zip could game until the cows came home but 18 year old "In Charge" "kicked Zip out" by the time DH called.

Zip-"I was kinda hoping you would come and get me now"

DH-(a KODAK MOMENT)- "Zip-Daddy has been working all night and is going to bed now"

Me: :O

I went to bed

ONLY TO BE WOKEN UP BY MY OWN "CHARLIE 2" AT 1AM (but that is another story)Aren't young men supposed to be "less drama" than young women???

DH is still downstairs "waiting for Zippy"

DH "Made Zippy walk home" (buses shut their doors at 11:30pm in this town)
