Most of my posts about SD10 have been pretty harsh. I wanted to record for posterity (lol for my selfish reasons) a good story. I guess you could say I wanted to share.

The other day, we were dropping off BDs10 and 8 of mine and we were on the way back. I had SS12 and SD10 with me. I don't remember how it came up, but SD10 said, "I am upset with Mommy"

SS12, "SD10, What is up?"

I was not going to get involved unless I had to.

SD10, "She didn't give me a birthday party because we had to go to court"

SD10's birthday was on the same day as the court hearing for custody to be released to their Dad, and that BM could only have supervised visits and phone calls until further notice. Not a fun day for anyone. We had made sure to give SD10 a NICE evening after that, we KNEW she would be upset. Not to mention, I could understand her being upset.

SS12, "Awwww, SD10, can't you forgive her? She is our mom!"

SD10, "Sure I will forgive her, when I get my birthday party."

ME, "Now, I remember that we had a really nice night that night... "

SD10 *silence*

Me, "You know, you might want to go easy on her, she had a hard day that day too."

SD10 "I know."

It broke my heart. I really like this little girl. She has had a rough time. She also said that day that she wished I would not leave. I know she likes me, I like her too. I just hope I can keep her from being turned into a "monster".
