Drama Queens, also know as Attention Whores
I honestly do not understand the drama queen dynamic. Does anyone?
I have several in my family. SD58 is the classic with her never-ending medical emergencies, volatile relationships and "pay attention to me!" antics. Her daughter, SGD28 is another one though more functional. She has husband, baby and career but from birth has demanded attention from everyone. She's a sweet, caring person but tiring to be around. GD37 is another. She is a kind soul but so energetic and, frankly, self-centeted.
Is this a genetic thing, or do we create them?

I think these drama queens
I think these drama queens are definitely made, not born that way. NPD BM is a drama queen extraordinaire, and SD23 and SD25 have learned her ways. SD25 is even more of a drama queen than her mother! Having said that, we had an incident with SD23 last week, it was the day before my birthday, (probably not a coincidence) and DH needed to speak to SD25, so phoned the house landline as it is a better line than SD25's mobile signal. They both work from home and SD23 happened to be doing a presentation on Zoom, when DH called her sister, which was unfortunate - but the way SD23 reacted was beyond crazy. She yelled at DH, told him "not to do it again" and when he objected to being spoken to like that, she blocked him on all social media. Even SD25 said she didn't know what had got into her. We have had radio silence since last Wednesday, and DH has been really depressed.
I think the drama queen dynamic is about not being able to live without dramatic highs and lows, they will create them if they do not exist.

Now that I think about it, my GD got it from her mom, my DL, a dear person but highly dramatic. I know SGD got it from her mom, SD58. SD58's mom, the dear departed BM, wasn't exactly a drama queen but extremely volatile. Sigh...these family patterns....

These kids were not parent right. They have no social life or skills. The only way anyone talks or listen to them . If it's a major emergency. Light burning out, everyone must drop everything and go to change the light. There Boss is mean, to them because he's sleeping with X. Employee Ect

I think they are made...in our case
Beaver was/is always looking for attention. Look at me....look at me...oh aren't I beautiful..(NO she is not). SD used to do the same thing..
Halo...do you think I'm pretty...Halo is my hair pretty..Halo do you think I'm cute...on and on.
DH used to have to tell her all the time..SD..noone likes a person that has to fish for compliments and attention. Knock it off...
SD does it less now...but I suspect that is just here that she has stopped since none of us would play into her attention games. GWR used to do the same thing as well.
DH says that Beaver was the same way..always....am I pretty? Do you think I look good?...on and on.
DH admitted that it was weird for him for awhile because I never ask those kinds of questions. I mean I want to know if I have lettuce in my teeth and if my new outfit looks nice...but that is about it.

Everytime you write about her, I'm seeing a chubby individual with coarse dark hair and prominent buck teeth. How I wish we could have pictures on here!
Another one I'd love to see
I just cant imagine what SD31 must look like. Some of those Hollywood stars overdo the beauty procedures and end up looking crazy. And, just imagine as she ages, not good.
