Impending Doom.....I mean skid weekend!
So who else is awaiting impending doom? I mean waiting with baited breath for the skids to come this weekend. I know I am! Tablet will be fully charged with lots of mystery games and word searches downloaded. House projects, switching out summer for fall clothes cleaning out my bios draws and closets. Cheering, cooking and whatever else I can do that limits my exposure to the deadly toxins. Swear ss9 is like happiness repellant.
SO thinks I procrastinate on house projects, little does he know I save them like precious stones to do when Prince William and Harry come to visit. To be honest ss7 really is a cool kid. I can’t wait to see how the shit hits the fan when SS9 realizes there is no WiFi and he can’t face time MOMMYYYYYYY! And the land line is not made available to him without asking. I can’t wait to see the melt down. Bet your sweet asses I will be laughing mine off.
So who else has skids this weekend and what do you do to avoid the deadly toxins AKA skids.

Same here. DH and I fought before he left last weekend and we won't see each other until he returns this weekend with skids in tow. Can't wait. NOT.
My skid weekend started last
My skid weekend started last night... I successfully avoided seeing both of them by putting BS5 mo to bed at 6 pm because he was exhausted and then proceeded to work in my office all night. I said my stomach hurt so I avoided dinner with them too! Ha! They are total energy-suckers! And the last 2 weekends they were with us, they brought some virus with them, and I got sick both times! Sure enough, SS10 is hacking up a lung again! Funny how they always get sick at BM's house...
Like you, OP, I like to save projects (canning/cleaning etc) until they are here so I can avoid them as best I can.

Ok, I have the toxic
Ok, I have the toxic mini-wives this weekend too. It had been a month hiatus. This saturday is OUR DD's 1 year birthday on saturday, so friday I will be way to busy making food and cakes and wrapping her presents to be bothered.
I also have 895 wedding photos to edit, so I'm busy. I know that they will attempt to ruin DD's birthday with their whining and "not fair" shit. I am so dreading it, just like every holiday where they suck the fun out of it.
I will just be plain ignoring them like they do me. I will be making excuses to be in our room, so I can wrap presents and that lovely stuff. Oh I have to hide all my stuff, like computers, printers, and etc before they get there, so tonight or it gets broken or missing. UGH!

YUP we have to hide ALL toiletries, hair stuff, body spray, tooth paste, hair gel. Anything that can be dumped down the toilet or drain. SS9 is a spiteful little prick and is still mad at his father for whatever reason. Mostly because BM brainwashes him. So to be spiteful he dumps things it doesn't matter who's it is. At almost 10 SO has to supervise shower time to make sure nothing gets destroyed. They have iPads but dd still hides her laptop and my tablet it off limits. Water bottles have to be put out of reach because we will go through 35 water bottles in a weekend and 85% is just split or wasted.

We're not sure if SD is
We're not sure if SD is coming this weekend. My husband's been working out of town and had to rearrange some weekends. This weekend is not his scheduled weekend, but he missed her last visit. BM loves to hold it over his head when he needs to reschedule, so she hasn't answered him yet on whether or not he can have SD. He emailed her a week ago and her response was "I'll have to let you know. We're very busy you know." (She's NOT busy, BTW.) I told him not to email her again because it reinforces how much power she has in this situation. If she gets back to him, great. If not, then we'll see SD next weekend.
If SD comes, it'll be another test to see if my husband will continue to be a parent to her. Her last visit went better than I expected. I might need to give him another pep talk before she comes though.
