Squashing Mini-Wife Syndrome AGAIN

katielee's picture

So yesterday we had a Father's Day Get-Together and one of my husband's friends came over with his Mini-Wife daughter. These are the two that my husband and SD12 used to hang out with all the time before I met my DH. Two single dads, two Mini-Wife daughters... A match made in Heaven. Disgusting, right?

I have to say, this little girl has the WORST case of Mini-Wife Syndrome I've EVER seen. It's enough to make any grown woman puke. Everything in this man's life is about his daughter. His thoughts, his plans, his Facebook page, EVERYTHING.

The problem I have with this is that it causes my SD12 to become jealous of the other little girl because she still gets to be the Mini-Wife, so SD12 "exacerbates" and starts Mini-Wife behavior all over again.

To make matters worse, DH starts to feel guilty that HIS wittle flower is not getting the same amount of attention from him that Mega-Mini-Wife is getting from her Daddyyyy.

So we have a full-fledged flare of Mini-Wife Syndrome.

UGG!

He isn't dating anyone. I honestly can't imagine him being able to maintain a relationship long enough to become serious.

I have thought about giving him a copy of my book as soon as I get it in print and just not tell him I am the author lol. He only knows I write romantic fiction, not nonfiction regarding stepkids lol.

My son is going through a divorce and he has two daughters. I am already talking to him about NOT doing this to his kids and to his future girlfriend/wife. He has seen what I'm going through so I really think he'll listen. So far, so good.

She definitely has the potential to be:( I hope they'll be able to all get along, but we all know how that goes.

Sounds like we have the same mini wife. My SD is 12 as well. She has faked sick on occasion on the days I work of course because she knows her dad will just give in and pick her up. There was one month where it was almost weekly that she would call her dad to come pick her up from school just so she can stay home and get whatever she wanted before I got home. When me and DBF are walking around and she is with us, she clings to the other side of him or makes sure she races to him to hold his hand the whole time. She constantly wants to be sitting on his lap, cuddling, holding his hand, rubbing his arm, stares at him constantly when he is not sitting with her. Rolls her eyes constantly at me when I call her on her bs attitude that she gives or if I even simply ask her a question. If she does something wrong and I say hey, knock it off in a calm voice, she will run out of the house and cry. She still gets happy meals, screaches constantly for no reason at all. Constantly eats junk food and purposley does it before dinner, then she eats two bites and throws the rest of her dinner away.

I am honestly not sure if she will ever get over it or if other kids who are the same ever truly get over it. You'll have to keep me updated. Best of luck to you.
