How Mini-Wives are Created

Last night my husband's friend came over to visit. This is the friend with the mini-wife from hell that I have mentioned on this blog from time to time. For this blog's purposes, we will call him Balless and for clarity, continue to call her Blossom.

Anyway, poor Balless looked very lost and lonely because it wasn't "his" weekend with Blossom.

As soon as he sat down under our carport with us he started talking about his pwecious wittle Bwossom. Seems he had bought Blossom a new cell phone that day so that now she could be perpetually in touch with him via text!

And it didn't take long for little Blossom to come through for dear sweet Daddyyyy...

You should have seen how Balless's face lit up the second he got the text.

"I love you, Daddy."

And so it went on all night... texts from Blossom to Balless and back to Blossom. And we got to hear about every one of them just like he was texting a big movie star.... or God Himself!

After awhile I really thought I'd barf. Even my DH looked a little sick (which I'm kinda happy about because he is at least realizing how sick and ridiculous this mini-wife behavior is.)

Balless will probably never have a girlfriend, and I don't expect it will be pretty for him when Blossom grows up and gets a boyfriend. His WHOLE life revolves around Blossom. And since she is only nine, her whole life revolves around him.

Blossom is not an unpleasant child, but I would certainly feel for the woman who tried to take her place in Daddyyyy's life (that is, should Balless ever want or need a girlfriend, which I can't imagine happening since he's so stuck up Blossom's ass that he can't see anything, let alone another female.)

Blossom is certainly very entitled and feels she should have her opinion considered in everything. And woe to the one who dares make little Blossom frown. Balless will move Heaven and Earth to make them pay.

Can't anyone else see this situation is wrong and ruining not only Balless's chance at a normal relationship, but Blossom's too? What is wrong with society that this kind of child-worship is not only condoned but encouraged in this age of 50-70% divorce rates? Has common sense gone out the window?

Because it certainly seems that way from where I stand.

I just posted yesterday about adults taking away their kids childhood. It was more along the lines of money but this falls right into that.

When daddy let's princess pick out his next car or the next house or what's for dinnet, not only is he creating an entitled monster, but depriving a child or normal creative and imaginary thinking and bumping the child right up to adult status.

When I was a child I treated adults with respect. It is mind blowing to me how children these days speak to elders.

Thank you for this post. I have a mini-wife on my hands also and it is the most severe, driven wedge in our blended family situation. Sad

These men cannot see it. It is always the woman's fault for not being able to accept being treated/made to feel like "the other woman", by a child. It's emotional abuse for any woman in a relationship with these men!

It's not just dads and daughters.
I've seen moms and sons do the mini-husband thing.

I didn't know you were hangin' out with my SO - because a lot of what you said describes him and his mini-hag.

Wow...didn't know Balless had a SO! But then again, he's shoved so far up Blossom's ass, I can't understand much of his muffled speech Wink
