New mommy advice?
I got the okay to finally go home tomorrow. Very excited, I've been stuck in the hospitial since Friday. My pain is finally under control, DS is healthy, and dh needs a goodnight sleep.
I've made my rounds and apologized to a few nurses. I went completely crazy during labor, it was like an out of body experience. Usually I would sit and cry by myself if I was in pain. This time I screamed and demanded things. Epidural did not at all, I was pushing for an 1 and nothing was happening, I had been in labor (with water broken) and they were saying that I may get an infection. Once I heard the doctor say that I will be pushing much longer, I demanded a C-section. My hippie nurse was trying to talk me out of it, so was dh. I yelled at them both. The doctor said she needed to explain the risks, I yelled. They said it would be a 15 minute wait to get in, I yelled. You get the picture.
I feel bad for yelling at dh, he was by my side the entire stay and did some gross tasks for me. Even slept on the uncomfortable couch. He presented me with my push gift (he doesn't beleive in them, so just the action was a gift in its self), he got me 1 karat diamond earrings.
So going home tomorrow makes me nervous and excited at the same time. Any vertern bio moms have any helpful advice? Anyone have a c-section that went home to a house with stairs?

We live in a split level. The
We live in a split level. The main level has a guest room with a queen bed, we may end up camping out in there. I'll be dreaming about my king size bed. Only thing is, his nursery is on the lower level. I may have to move some things to a temp position.
I'm afraid of the unknown. I really want to know what it will feels like. I am sad because I won't be able to carry my baby around for a while. Thanks for the advice.
Having an abdominal surgery
Having an abdominal surgery is the pits. But a few pointers.....
If your bed is high, get a step stool to help you get in and out of bed.
When laying down, sit on edge of bed, lay down on your side and have hubby put your feet up in bed and then roll to your back.
Reverse to get out of bed.
And enjoy your new bundle of joy!! This is such a speacial time and it passes so quickly! It is hard to believe mine are about to be 15 and 12!!
I don't know... I didn't have
I don't know... I didn't have all the issues the above are describing with getting in and out of bed. I walked around a lot and didn't rest too much after my surgery. I know that staying in bed too much will lengthen your recovery time. You can carry your baby (unless you were really told not to), I started carrying mine in the hospital, the doctors said not to lift more than her weight.
My biggest advice is to not let others help too much, especially with the baby, especially if you are breastfeeding. My mom came over every day to help with the baby and since I wasn't trying to feed every time she cried and my mom was forcing sleep on me when I should have been working on bfing, we had a lot of trouble getting her to nurse.
