A Ray of Hope?
SO talked to his lawyer about the GAL report. His lawyer is pretty decent, knows the court system well and is a pretty neutral guy. He gives pretty good advice based on what is realistic to expect from the court and typically his reactions are in line with how a commissioner will see the situation. In addition, he knows the commissioners by name and knows their biases. He's not the greatest lawyer in the world but he's decent and gets the job done.
That said, SO's lawyer is a great litmus test for how the court will typically respond to what BM has been putting forth with regards to her court statements. His feedback on the GAL report was that he was not impressed with the report and did not feel it was very comprehensive nor that a lot of work went into it. He also shares SO's concerns about some of the contradictions in the recommendations. We've both taken this response as a ray of hope.
One funny thing that happened, the GAL typo'ed and said SO had video of BM freaking out at an exchange, he actually said he has video of SD3 freaking out. BM's lawyer stated in an email that BM was uncomfortable with SO videotaping at the exchanges because it makes her "uncomfortable". SO responded to his lawyer that he is not videotaping, but perhaps he should start, given that she continues to falsely accuse him of Domestic Violence and is quoted in the GAL report as admitting to bringing weapons like a taser to the exchanges. LOL if she was really afraid of him she'd be making her own videos, not avoiding them. Unless of course she wants to make up even more statements of him threatening her during these exchanges. Which would just bolster the need for SD3 to move to fulltime daytime preschool and to have the exchanges through there as SO had originally proposed.
SO is setting up a phone appointment with his lawyer to discuss his options. The battle continues, but so far with each hearing SO manages to gain some ground a little bit at a time. He's such a good daddy, fighting so hard for his baby
