Our BM has a pretty lazy/entitled attitude toward working. She couldn't/wouldn't hold a job when she was married to DH, did pretty well when single and having to support SDnow16 and her other child, and started getting fired again after marrying her sugar daddy. DH thinks that's because she saw work as an "extra", not a necessity, and did things like maxing out her sick days early and being generally unpleasant.

After 18 months, I guess unemployment finally ran out. BM now has an important-sounding job 30 miles away from her house. She drive a Dodge Durango. I'm going to guess that a fairly significant fraction of her pay is going to go straight into her gas tank. And now that she HAS a job, the spending restrictions are going to go away.

I don't see anything changing. BM will still hound DH for cash, all of her money will go to her and her public image (car, house, clothes) and not to SD16.

I give this job 3 months. Six at the outside. Then either it'll be too inconvenient, too expensive to maintain, or her nasty condescension toward people she considers her inferiors will lose her this job.
