You deserve a raise and a vacation!!!!!!!!!
That was my life. I made a
That was my life. I made a list like this for my DH a few years ago. It showed him what I do every single day from the moment I wake up to the second my head hit the pillow. My DH's was about the same your DH's daily tasks and mine was like yours. I told him I was done and I could not keep up anymore.
Now DH makes us breakfast, washes his own clothes, all towels and sheets. He vacuums, mops, and walks the dogs 3 times a day. I walk dogs for their 9pm walk, I feed dogs am and pm, I make our coffee in the am, I cook dinner, he wraps up while I walk dogs. I do most of the heavy scrubbing and lawn care (my exercise and DH is not allowed to do it). We both rinse all dishes and take turns loading the dishwasher every couple of days. It took 10 years but I think I am training him or he has finally learned, happy wife, happy life
As far as the day to day
As far as the day to day stuff, my DH and I are split pretty evenly, I know I am lucky for that. However, I handle all;
the bills
Dr/dentist appointments
car maintenance/repair appointments/work
home maintenance/repair appointments/work
anything legal or paper-workey
vacations/trips
weekend plans
Basically anything that falls out of the normal day-to-day grind is my responsibility.
Oh well. I know it could be much worse.
Yes, kind of similar but DP
Yes, kind of similar but DP does more work when SDs are with us.
I just don't do as much then and he knows it. I'll leave dirty dishes and mess everywhere and he knows I HATE that.
It's even better now because our dryer broke down and then our hot water tank stopped working. I have a feeling it's the crap electricals in our rental house (we are outta there in 2 weeks!!)...so now it's no more dishes and no more laundry until that's fixed.
...The funny thing is I don't think DP was even going to contact the landlords until this morning when I made it clear that we STILL NEED HOT WATER for cleanliness and I need a dryer because it's freaking RAINING for the next week...meanwhile sheets are hanging all over the house...
I feel your pain. We live in
I feel your pain. We live in a rental too. I can't run the dry and stove at the same time. It took our landlord TWO YEARS to get the AC and heating fixed right. I kept telling him it wasn't working correctly, but I'm a woman, what do I know. The frig quit last summer. I told him two months before that the freezer section was no longer working and I was using my chest freezer. Makes me missing military housing.
Yes. He blamed us for
Yes. He blamed us for breaking the last washing machine, then claimed it was "working just fine" once his handy-man got it out of there...um, why didn't you test it BEFORE you took it out (I suspect it was just a belt that needed replacing but as you know, what do I know!).
The machine sits in about an inch of water most of the year so it gets rusty and breaks quick, but there's no fixing that apparently (I did make sure it wasn't an electrical shock risk first). The replacement washer is likely on the way out after a year as several cycles don't work any longer. Just like the last one.
I will not stand for no hot water though. That's necessary.
Yep unbalanced here.... Me:
Yep unbalanced here....
Me: Wake up
Feed cats
Shower/get ready for work
Get BS out the door for school
Work
Pick up BS from Latchkey
feed cats
cook dinner
do dishes
take BS to sport
clean cat boxes
do a load of laundry
pack lunches for the next day
help BS with homework
sweep kitchen floor
go to bed
DH:
Wake up, work, come home, chill, eat dinner, go to bed.
I do all dishes, laundry, cooking, cleaning, organizing, planning, meal prep, taking care of my BS, taking care of the cats, decorating, etc
DH does the yard work but I usually do SOMETHING outside. Weeding, taking care of the flowers, etc.
DH does the man projects but only the stuff that REALLY needs done. (new furnance installed, toliet fixed etc) If its something that I want done I have to wait months and nag him about it.
I take out the trash, I take it to the curb (along with BS).
DH says if I ask him to do something and BS can do it, then BS is supposed to do it. Which I agree with to a certain extent. I defintely need to make BS do more things and teach him, but DH wont do it if he thinks a WOMAN or a CHILD should do it.
He's a douche.
