dh is going for his sleep study tonight.....so hopeful things will improve

I am pretty sure that dh has severe sleep apnea. I've been telling him for years to tell his Dr....he's blown me off. He finally mentioned it and the Dr says that he almost certainly has it. We've been waiting for weeks for his sleep study to diagnose it and get some treatment.

I hope that this is a real turning point for us. If he can actually get a solid nights sleep at night then he will be up and available to deal with the skid crap more. He wont be sleeping all day everyday. He wont be as irritable and crabby.

Last weekend he slept all Saturday morning until it was time for work. Then on Sunday he slept til 11 when I woke him up. He laid down for a nap at three and didn't wake up until 11pm. So he was conscious for a whopping 4 hours all weekend. Then I'm agitated because I'm doing it all on my own and he's agitated because he's tired and cranky and I'm bring pissy with him. Then since he slept all day he's up by himself ball night playing games and watching TV....and exhausted by morning.

Man, if things don't get better soon I don't know how much longer I can take this...

I hope they can help him!! My mother has it and is supposed to sleep with the mask over her nose but refuses too!!

My DH used to never sleep at night because he hurt his shoulder at work so it would throb all night long. He was supposed to have surgery but never did. He ends up pacing around all night, keeping me awake and then he is cranky all the time. Luckily it has stopped!! I make him take tylenol pm or motrin pm and it does the trick!

My DH has it bad. I FINALLY got him to go in to the dr about it. They referred him to a specialist (if you know my DH, getting him to go even ONCE is like pulling teeth!). The specialist asked him a bunch of questions to which he responded yes. The only question he responded no to was whether he had headaches when he woke up.

That "specialist" told him that it was NORMAL to stop breathing during the night :jawdrop: :jawdrop:

I recorded what my DH was sounding like the other night. If I ever see that "specialist" again, I will say, "Does THIS sound NORMAL to you?!?! As I am shoving it up his ass!"

DH has sleep apnea. His lack of restful sleep was affecting every part of his life. FINALLY, he went for his test, 1400 episodes of stopped breathing in a 4 hour period. Waking up was a long process for him and he was regularly late for work. The morning after the follow up test, where they have them use the CPAP for the first time, he arrived home, made coffee and TALKED to me in the morning. SHOCKING!! It was such an amazing transformation!!

I hope your DH has the same results. Smile
