sd10 now called her father "da"....not dad or daddy or even dada....but just da...like the 9 month old
Ever since the baby started talking, SD has been calling dh - da. It drives me insane. Is she really so jealous and insecure that she has to act like an infant around him? The baby calls me mama, he calls bs3 hubba (brother) and he calls dh "da". He doesn't call the skids anything (secretly happy about that, not gonna lie).
And for the past two weeks SD has reverted from her usually daddy(in a Bab voice) to calling him da. And dh doesn't say anything. Like that's normal for a 10 yr old. Heck, bs3 is already transitioning to mom and dad over mommy and daddy. I am mom about 50% of the time and dh is DSD about 25% of the time. Not sd10 or ss11 though.....its mommy and daddy all the time. And now SD has regressed back to monosyllabic baby talk.
If bs3 even uses lazy grammar I correct him....yet eh sees nothing wrong with a ten yr old calling him DA. SMH.

Guess it's time to break out
Guess it's time to break out the bib, bottles, diapers and such to SD and let her know if she's going to act like a baby, she'll be treated as such. No more of her favorite tv shows, big girl toys, etc.
See how she likes that?
I want to say something so
I want to say something so badly. But bit really has nothing to do with me, ya know. He can have his kid call him whatever he wants. Its just to odd.
Both skids, but SD in particular, act more babyish than bs3. And this is just the icing on the cake. I'm guessing it has something to do with trying to prove that she's still his baby?
yes and it's attention
yes and it's attention seeking behavior. Don't indulge her. If anything her father needs to look at her and tell her sternly "do not speak to me in baby talk"
I still call my father Da, I
I still call my father Da, I am Irish though.
