The Great Bunkbed Debate 2.0 an update...

princessmofo's picture

I won. Last weekend we worked for two days to switch the bedrooms around. It was a hassle but it all worked out splendidly. The kids were all EXTREMELY happy, much to H's dismay. The two younger were ecstatic. I took them each out and let them pick new character comforters and wall decals to match and helped them decorate.

Oldest bio is now in room by himself and for the first time in three years, yes three years, he slept past 7 a.m. :jawdrop: When he bunked with ss dh would have to enter the room to get ss up for school, as his school's start time is before ours, and bio would inevitably wake up from the commotion. Youngest bio sleeps through anything so he hasn't even noticed dh coming in room in the a.m. Everyone seems delighted. SS even thanked me for moving him and decorating his room and buying him "cool stuff" for his bed.

Now here is the cherry on top, STalkers. Are you ready for it? H said, "You were right, Princess Mofo. It was a good idea. The kids all seem very happy and everyone has more room now. I'm sorry I doubted you. I WAS WRONG." :jawdrop:

I actually wrote it on the calendar, in red ink, on the date he uttered the words.

Yep! I held my ground on this one. Would not back down and it paid off. It sounds like a small victory but to me it felt like I had won the lottery.

Haha - I have told my DH that I am going to start recording ALL our conversations so he knows when I am right. Or he can save us both the hassle and just go on the assumption that what I say is correct. Smile

LMAO!! I know, right?! Well if it isn't him, I hope he rips off the mask to reveal himself as Tom Hiddleston.

Yay, so glad it worked out Smile

Sometimes you have to be assertive to make stuff work out. Men are just so stubborn.
