A BM funny that had me in tears last night!
DH was flipping through channels and came upon the Adam Sandler movie "Click". He was already laughing before it got to a particular scene he wanted me to see he could barely talk. I've seen the movie before but just didn't know this particular part made him think of BM.
Ok, so if you haven't seen it, it's a movie about Adam Sandler reliving his life in several different scenarios of what could be and in one scene he'd lost an incredible amount of weight and was in the hospital. His ex wife came to visit him and he pulls his blanket down to reveal this layer of flab and starts flipping it back and forth saying "it looks like a giant tongue". The scene is funny in itself, but DH looked at me and said "You know how I told you BM got REALLY big and then lost all the weight right?" And I agreed and said I'd seen photos of her weighing a good 80lbs heavier than she is now. Well, he (through major laughter) says "This part always reminds me of her because she literally had this "tongue" thing after she lost the weight and it just flapped around all the time and she HATED it"!!!
Not sure if she still suffers from FTS ("flappy tongue syndrome") because I don't see her except when I pass her on the road (we live in the same town) and she's driving, but yeah, he was laughing so hard I couldn't help but join in and soon enough, we were both wiping tears out of our eyes.
Yeah, it's great to have a laugh at her expense after everything she and SD have done to us!

What SD has done is what bm and dh have done by not parenting her right. Maybe if they'd parented her right, sd would have treated you nicely and would have handled getting step parents better. So the way she's acting/reacting, that's on dh and bm too. Your dh should have thought about the possibility she'd turn out like this when he and bm were letting her run the show as a little kid. You can blame sd, but the fact is that you did and do a good job of parenting your dd and it shows in how well she gets along with dh and how she accepted him into her life. Maybe if dh and bm had raised sd to treat others respectfully right from the beginning things would be better for everyone.

Anon, while I agree that SD14 is a product of horrible, guilty parenting, there comes a time in which she KNOWS what she's doing and should be held accountable for her actions and behavior.
She's a lying, manipulative little entitled brat who will do whatever she has to do to get her way. And once daddy started parenting her (albeit a LOT too late), she took offense to that and started to shun him and tell horrible lies claiming she "misunderstood".
She KNOWS lying is wrong and she KNOWS she's hurting her father by ignoring him and telling lies about him. She blames everything that goes wrong in her life on DH or I. She blamed us for teasing her about her poor spelling/math skills when it was DH's dad that did it! Come on, she's almost 15, she KNOWS what she's doing.

It was funny that the particular scene (which is gross and funny at the same time) makes him think of her that way. Now, if it was a sexual or desire-type thought, I wouldn't be comfortable with it, but he sees her as I do: a gross, nasty pain in our ass!
