update on no communication----
It's going rather well so far (knock on wood). Yesterday when she was to bring the kids home, I didn't call and say by the way the freeway isclosed, sorry, make sure you take the back road. SS16 called me about an hour after he should've been here already and said, "um....we are lost on some wierd dirt road somewhere-we have no idea when we will get there." I sad ok no biggy-see you when you get here.
DUH-she has a GPS navigator on her phone and a Tom Tom (left at home), yet she's lost-giggle giggle-der.
Certainly I could have warned her, but she said she hates when we cal or text or anything-so-no commuincation for her

SS16 sounds like a smart kid
A lot of adults don't even have the courtesy to call and say they'll be late, whether it's to a doctor's appointment, work or whatever...you obviously have a good influence on him!
That must feel very, very nice to not communicate with BM! Let DH do the communicating.
DH is on a no communication
DH is on a no communication basis too-we love it.

I wish we didn't communicate...
but with a 5 year old is difficult not to...

I'm confused..
You want to communicate with the BM? I can't stand the woman, she communicates too much with DH and he defends her for it! I wish she would suddenly decide she didn't want communication.
Oh no! I hate to communicate with her but....
I have this strange personality where I like to get things done in advance, and I like to be sure everything gets done (properly and on time) and I like to know when things will effect my schedule. I also try to be a good person and think, "if it was my kids, what would I want to know throughout the week". So I always tried to be "the good person" and let BM know what was up with the kids and if I had plans for them anytime in the next few months or so. My dumb ass expected the same thing from her...der on my part. So, I would be kind and considerate and let her know stuff about school, when we would have the kids on vacation or whatever-but never got the same in return until the last minute, so I would get frustrated (at my own fault). I would even share schol pix and stuff with her because she never even knew about them. But now, with he no commuication thing, it's been great. I have actually gotten to where I don't care what happens when they are with her and if she has plans, whatever-Ive always been flexible. For example, I know she will be gone for a week and a half in August/September, but of course she hasn't said anything, and likely won't until the few days prior. My theory always was, as soon as you know, let the other parents know so they can plan accordingly, but whatever. I mean, if she were to tell me before the actual week, maybe I could plan for the kids to go somewhere or to visit grandparents or something. I mean, I never have them on the weekends! But she doesn't think that way, unless of course it effects her. Neither DH nor I communicate at all with her anymore and it's wonderful. The kids usually find a way t mention anything important to us that they heard from BM over the weekend and if we really NEED her to know something, we tell SS16-he is our reliable one.

well, with a 16 yr old I
well, with a 16 yr old I don't see why you would need to communicate with her! Its only 2 yrs until he's an adult. He can do any neccessary communicating I would think.

there is a very very immature SS11 here too,
and let's face it, can we really rely on three boys to get all the messages across? No matter-unless it's ABSOLUTELY NEEDED there will be no communication. Yay.
