skids and facebook vent

Ok, my first real blog. Since I have been a member-I mainly read all of your postings to hang onto my own sanity with a man who is a part of my life. He has full custody of his ten year old son, and they both live with me. The boys mother has virtually not been in his life since he was three. I'm sure part of this boys issues have to do with the abandonment and possibly learning difficulties because BM is a drunk and crack head. So back to Dad, my BF...I found out today that his son has his own facebook page. Now, this is a skid who will not brush his teeth unless you watch, will not take his daily medication unless watched, lies to our faces constantly over everything. BF tells me today that he is going to raise his son responsibly, so that he doesn't have to monitor him, he will teach him "what goes around, comes around" the golden rule, etc etc  I don't even what this skid on my computer.

I asked him whose idea it was for this skid to have his own facebook page? no answer. I asked if he had the password? no answer. I asked if he is even "friended" so he can think he is seeing what the boy puts out there- no answer. BF thinks that he can just go out and see what his kid is putting out online. Biggrin

I only found out because BFs ex-wife, loving stepmom#1 called out BFs family member for making a joking comment about having the skid stay with her for an extended time period. I bet everything stepmom#1 is the enlightened creature that set this boy up with his own FB page. WWIII is about to begin and thank goodness its not my doing! I usually get blamed for "not liking his son, being to hard on his son, everything I say about his son is only what his son is doing wrong...but he is such a good kid, how can I not love him to pieces?" allow me to barf a little more

I have disengaged a bit, and would love to do so completely. I don't do their laundry, but I will cook for them both on occasion. I try so hard not to get all involved, but sometimes it just gets the better of me. I cannot wait until all of BF's trust and responsibility "teachings" will come to fruition... when this child begins to start putting crap out into the world. }:)

Yes, I so agree with you both. He is to young and even if its to play games. He has never "earned" a xbox or other game system...so how is this different. The bigger problem is stepmom#1 will do anything to make him happy. If he keeps it, it will become one more clusterf**k for him to create. Already, it has three grown adults fighting over what poor lil boy might see or think. Stupidity! The skid already knows that if I'm home, he is not getting on the computer- its mine and I get to play games! " No - Go outside and play!" Yes- stepmom#1 is the fairy stepmother, I am stepmom#2 and the evil stepmom. I have two grown sons almost 30 years old- I know all the tricks and can see them coming a mile away!
