Anne heres something to shake things up...
Anne said it’s been boring here, so you guys can hear about the excitement at work this evening. I was threatened tonight by a patron that had been cut off. He behaved for an hour or so, sobering up (I don’t know how he got so messed up, he only had one beer) and then decided to be ungentlemanly to another patron. Bartender on duty asked him to leave…and that’s when I got involved. I should say that in 13 years of the restaurant/bar/night club biz I have been threatened a very few times, less in my seven years managing. I have a cool head when people get in my face and I don’t raise my voice, I have been told that when I’m angry it’s more frightening than someone that yells, maybe that translates to people who have been drinking so they leave me alone? This guy tonight wasn’t going to leave, he wanted me to call the police or continues to harass patron, so I banned and barred him. As he was leaving he poked a finger towards me and told me he should shoot me. I don’t think he really wanted to hurt me, just a bully looking for a response. All he got was; that’s a threat and unacceptable you must leave now or I’ll have you arrested. And he left. Whew. Bartender on duty (male) told me I have brass balls but I was shaking when I went into the office and called the police. Anyway, I will be blogging later this week on custody issues. If I can handle someone telling me they will shoot me, BM should be a breeze.

Yeah... People are nuts... I
Yeah... People are nuts... I work in a larger hospital ER and one thing I learned here is that people are weird and usually crazy.
Congratulations on your brass
Congratulations on your brass balls! I love it. Being a step-mom and someone who has worked in that industry for a long time has definitely taught you how to handle yourself. And yes, people can be far scarier when they are NOT yelling.
