Friendship !!
Friendship comes in many shapes and sizes......so do woman's shoes.
Women wear dress shoes, casual shoes, and of course the slippers.
Dress shoes - High Heels look great when you are all dressed up, and ready for a special occasions and you are all excited. You are happy , but as the evening moves on, your old feet get tired / By the time the evening is over and you get home, you just can't wait to put those shoes back in the closet. The old feet hurt some, well not some, they hurt a lot if dancing was part of your evening and it is usually in mine..
Casual shoes - when I think of these, I think of my sneakers (you know tennis shoes) you slide into them, tie them up, and head out for a day. Maybe errands, a walk, whatever is on your agenda for the day, you are ready. Oh they don't hurt your feet but yet when you get home, you are pleased as can be to take them off, put your feet up and relax. You don't mind wearing casual shoes daily, it's just part of life.
Slippers - Ohhh... slippers.......after a day of dress shoes, or casual shoes, when you head home to relax, you find those old slippers right where you left them and you slide them on your feet. Never is there an uncomfortable feeling. On a cold day they keep your feetwarm, sometimes you don't even know you have them on. Unlike dress and casual shoes, slippers become more comfortable the older they get. Sometimes when your feet are propped up, you get a glimpse of those old slippers and think "you know, I really should get a new pair" , but that is only a thought that passes for a second and you lean back in the chair, close your eyes, and take a nap.
I've known some "high heel" kind of people and I've let them go--I'm getting to old for high heeled shoes -- I haven't subjected my body to them in years ( except special occasions), why would I want that kind of person in my life?
I have some" tennis shoe " people around and enjoy them from time to time, but then I'm glad to head home.
In all my life I've only had a few people around me that I could call "slippers" and they're the one's , That are "MY DEAREST FRIENDS"...
Friendship shouldn't hurt , just remember that . If it hurts...it isn't friendship.
An Interesting way to look at friendship and people in your Lives....huh?
