I wanted to bitch slap the gift right out of his hand
FSS 10, saw me cross stitching something for my sister and asked if he could make one with his football team logo.
I explained it is really hard and takes a long time, but he insisted he wanted to do it.
He got frustrated, screwed up several times, cried a bit (all three are in counseling, I know crying is not normal for something like this) but FDH finally said, after an hour, to put it down and go to bed, that he needs to accept that it won't happen tonight...
So next day, while I'm finishing my sisters present, I decide to do a simplified version of what FSS wanted. And I placed it in his room.
He comes in after playing outside all day, and while I'm finishing supper comes up to me with the peice off cross stitched cloth and says, "this isn't the way I wanted it, you didn't fill it in"
All I could get out was, "really? Ss? Beggers can't be choosers"
And he says, "fine, I won't ask you the question I was going to" and walks away.
I wanted to smack that thing right out of his hand,... Couldn't believe I kept it that together....

That was a lovely thing to do
That was a lovely thing to do for him and how infuriating that he was so ungrateful when you had gone to the extra effort. I'm not surprised you were left boggling. Plus I bet you were left thinking of all the things you could have said if you had not been caught off guard by his rudeness!
