The Expectations (Spin Off on the Implecation)

So my presentation to the town board (which I attended this time; Chef did not but he did cook dinner--and made a mess) partially over turned the planning boards "nay."  They tabled it and said they were very impressed by it and my applicant screening methods.

Fast forward to this morning.   As usual Chef trots out to the rehab, forgets to wheel out the trash toter (I do it as it affects me).  I then get into my heavy sweatshirt and long pants plus gear to weed whack with my commercial grade echo SRM-225 straight shaft string trimmer.

I glanced down at my phone to see that a heating and cooling customer had texted about his air conditioning not working as well as it should,  so I copied the text word-for-word and pasted it into a text for Chef..  I know he's going to want me to look up all the information about the customer before he calls but I am busy weedwacking so I text him that I am weedwhacking... You know the weeds he complained about the other day and that I should "just get it done."

I figured for once in his life, he could actually call and get more information instead of me doing it and prepping the call for him, as it is his business too, but no.

I come back from about 30 minutes of weed wacking. Look down on my phone seeing several calls from Chef.  He doesn't pick up, but then he calls me later to give me a tongue lashing about how I'm supposed to look all the information up and prep the call before I hand it over to him because he's busy!  And that he had to actually call the customer without any call prep!  The NERVE of Thinkthrice!!!!

As his business fails, point out that as a great plumber, he makes a shit manager.

Lather.... rinse.... repeat.

Then, you manage the businesses and keep the message clear that he has to do what he is instructed to do when he is instructed to do it.

DW have always avoided working for the same employer.  To not put all of our income eggs in one basket, and to give us both independent parts of our life just for us.  We each have our own career.

I am not sure how you would navigate this blended life/business thing.  I do not envy you the experience.

Take care of you.

I can't get over the "just get it done". If DH EVER said anything like that to me, his life would radically change and not for the better. I also think I'd have been exceedingly rude with my answer ("do it yourself you useless, lazy shite" - turn on my heel and walk away). Who TF does Chef think he's talking to?

I've never even had a boss who talked to me like that and I have had some stinkers!
