Sent my scathing letter to the teacher

of YSS16, who put him on detention for being rude and defiant.  Also for not doing classwork and blowing off homework and attendance.  Somehow she was missed out of the original grouping; her name was not on the special education review meeting that originally went out.

Not that it will go anywhere but Girhippo's

I'm not surprised that this particular teacher was not listed on the original grouping. My understanding is that while the child may have multiple regular education teachers, only one regular education teacher legally has to be at the meeting. The decision on which regular education teacher to have there is not usually made by the teachers involved. In theory, the special education person writing the IEP has talked to all of the teachers involved with the child and used that input to develop the recommended IEP. 

Your scathing letter is most likely not telling the teacher anything she hasn't already figured out. It may have made you feel better, but it will change nothing (as you already know).
