FOR THURSTON COUNTY....... We are looking for someone who is damn good. Isnt going to back down until things are even and as fair as they can be. We want someone who is diligent with our time, gives straight up answers and doesnt bs us. " Saying oh yeah we can do this and this and this and then at the end...Nilche"

Any suggestions???

I do not have a network in Wash State. If it was Texas I have the perfect attorney for you.

I would recommend you find someone who will ask you the following questions and move on until you do.

1. What is it that you want to accomplish with this legal action?

2. Are you doing this for the best interest of the kid(s) or to screw the X?

3. This could get expensive. Are you prepared financially for the worst case cost situation.

4. If what you are asking for is either unreasonable or unlikely will you consider any alternative suggestions I present?

5. I am not a therapist and I am too expensive for you to use me as a source of emotional support. If you want someone to listen as you work through your issues with your X I am not your guy. (Not a question but our attorney gave us these items during our first meeting.)

If at any time during the process your attorney recommends that you call the X and "work it out" fire them and find a better attorney. What these morons fail to recognize is that if the X was reasonable no attorneys would be neccessary.

What state are you in? You can search through your local phone book for attorneys and see if there are reviews for them online. A lot of people write reviews online for such purposes. Good luck in finding an attorney!

generally no. if there is a mediation and both parties agree to use the atty as a mediator...then yes. but there are waivers for conflict. most attys will not represent both parties because it is against the code of ethics.
