OT~~ Can I get a handclapp for all the GREAT police officers?
Anyone have any good cop stories?
I want to say something.
My DH is a cop. He's great at what he does.
Dear Husband, thank you for what you do. Thank you for being willing to give up your life at any moment for a stranger to protect them. Thank you for answering calls of someone breaking into a old lady's home. Thank you for wearing that badge. If it weren't for you I would not feel safe in my own skin. I know that if anyone ever breaks into my home you'll be the face that I want to see first. I know that alot of other people feel the same way about your face! Because you'll come in and protect me, not just because I'm your wife, you would do it for anyone. At any time. I admire and respect you so much for what you are willing to do for the people of our community. I find it amazing that you have that kind of courage. I know you, and I know you would look down the barrel of a gun and not flinch. You wouldn't even let fear enter your head.....you'd be to hell bent on getting out of the situation as safe as possible. I've seen you in action, and it always amazes me.
Thank you Juice. Thank you for what you do every day.
And thank you to the rest of the officers round the world. Keep it safe!!

I am proud of my cousin who is a cop. I know it is an extremely hard job. Not to mention I think many of our cops, particularly rookies aren't compensated very well. He is also still active duty in the Army and has been to Afghanistan twice. I admire him because I know I wouldn't be able to do it. It takes a special person.

Yay!!! **Jumping up and down clapping** My Dh is a cop too! And let me tell you, I think he is the ROBOcop of cops. He totally turns me on when he's in his uniform and he is a tough guy.
Over the course of my DHs 25 year career he's worked as a beat cop, a SWAT officer and undercover narcotics investigator and now as the Sergeant in charge in Financial Crimes.
He's done important work, put really bad, bad guys in jail and saved the lives, hopes and dreams of many people in our community.
Thanks baby and to all the men in uniform protecting and serving us!

What about firefighters?
A firefighter in Homewood, IL (a suburb of Chicago, near where I live) was recently killed trying to save an 87 year old man from a burning house. Sadly, both he and the man died, a lady firefighter was injured. He was buried yesterday. The salute at his casket during the wake took over an hour for policeman and firefighters from all the surrounding areas to file past.

When there's a fire there's no one better to see.
When there's a intruder there's no one better to see than a police officer.
When there's a war there's no one better to see than a soldier.
They all do it with very few thanks. It's sad.
Huh? If someone breaks into
Huh? If someone breaks into your house tomorrow, who are YOU going to call a plumber? If your house is on fire and burning to the ground, would you prefer the gardner show up to put it out?
If so, maybe put up a sign in your front yard that says "I do not respect police or firefighters." They'll be sure to leave you alone even if you need them.
My BIL is a firefighter.
My BIL is a firefighter. Love them. They are the ones running into the building when everyone else is running out. Big ups to the firefighters!

clapping for the good cops!!
clapping for the good cops!! i had an encounter with one who boldfaced lied to the judge.... thank goodness, he was also an idot, so my attorney proved that in about two seconds.... my anger stems from the fact that if the cop didn't lie to begin with i wouldn't have needed to spend $5k on an attorney! so i'm up in the air on how many are good...
firefighters ROCK!
Well, all I can say is, they
Well, all I can say is, they have a completely thankless job. The few times I have ever had contact with cops, they've been great.

Steperg, I'd like to ask you
Steperg, I'd like to ask you to refrain from posting on my blogs. I will in turn do the same for you. I don't think you and I will ever agree on anything at all, and I'd like to be as nice as possible with you when we do meet up. So please, if you don't mind, ignore my blogs. I would really appreciate it.
Why are you on a site,
Why are you on a site, asking for others' opinions if you can't take it when they differ from yours!?
Well, in this case, I can
Well, in this case, I can see it. Because Steperg has told others that if they disagree with her, they should stop reading her blogs and move on. This doesn't come out of the blue -- Jen, I believe is reacting from past "encounters" that they have had. Jen is asking Steperg to do the same thing that Steperg has asked others who don't agree with her to do.

There are good and bad
There are good and bad people in every profession and every walk of life. But on balance people that are willing to take a bullet for you are people that you should offer some degree of respect.
Some people make mistakes or take wrong turns but people who make a life out of serving others whether it is as an officer, a soldier, a teacher or a doctor all deserve, at the very minimum, respect.
The accomplishment of
The accomplishment of completing a degree, diploma, becoming a soldier or carrying a badge stands alone regarless of the individual who accomplishes it.
I may not know or respect the person who holds the degree, diploma, rank or badge but I respect the accomplishment and in the case of soldiers, law enforcement officers and fire fighters I respect that they dedicate themselves to my safety and the well being of my country.
IMHO of course.

Thank you for posting this!
Thank you for posting this! I have nothing but appreciation for the wonderful men and women who wear uniforms and risk their lives to keep the rest of us safe, free and protected. Before I met and married DH I dated a couple of firefighters and one ambulance medic and also have a lot of family friends in the police force and the legal system. They have done so much to keep total strangers safe and alive and I will always be grateful for their sacrifices! My mom's best friend is a retired Portland, OR officer and he is one of the sweetest, funniest, most caring people I have ever known. On top of that he is a wonderful husband and father to two adorable children. He has told me stories from his years on the police force that have made me almost pee my pants from laughing and is has the most twisted, yet hilarious sense of humor. On a personal note, when I recently had a seizure at home and my husband called 911, the medics and officers could not have been more sweet, comforting and caring. I was scared, confused and had temporary amnesia and was all scraped up from thrashing around and hitting my head and limbs and the medics and police could not have been more sweet with me. I was terrified that I had a brain tumor or something and they were amazing at calming me down and comforting me. I have also had many times where the police swept in and helped me and went far and beyond their job duty. Last Winter I was driving up a steep grade in the middle of winter and had my chains of my car, but halfway up the grade one of the chains fell off, but being a mechanical klutz, couldn't get the chains off or back on and had a total side of the road panic attack at being stuck on the side of a steep highway with no way to fix it! As I scrambled around cutting my fingers on the chain and trying not to burst into tears, a super trooper drove my and saved my ass! He actually got down on his back and rolled around under my car getting completely filthy, but managing to fix my chains! I was so grateful and luckily had baby wipes in my car to offer him something to wipe the grease off his hands. He was so nice and cool! He actually agreed to follow me until I got to the top of the grade just to make sure the chains didn't have problems again and then when he took off he gave me the biggest grin and a thumbs up! He was so rad and made me even more appreciative of our people in uniform.
The firefighters I dated (who are all still good friends of mine) were also incredible people. They put themselves in possibly fatal and incredibly dangerous situations just to keep the rest of us safe and I am filled with admiration for them. Despite the stress and pressure they are under, they have incredible upbeat attitudes and hilarious senses of humor. I dated two wildlife firefighter and one city firefighter and other than my darling husband, they were the nicest people I have ever dated! The men and women serving overseas deserve a round of applause too because they are out there risking their lives in order to serve their country and keep the rest of us at home free. So, all in all, I have nothing but admiration for all the men and women in uniform and they deserve all of our gratitude, love and cheers! (plus, men in uniform are so freaking hot that they make me and most women melt with lust, haha!)
Anyway, this is a great post because I don't think the people who work day and night to keep their country men and women safe and happy deserve all the appreciation they can get. So, to all the firefighters, officers, and men and women serving overseas, thank you! We love you!

Kudos to your DH, and I DO
Kudos to your DH, and I DO appreciate the GOOD cops out there. Unfortunately, I have to say, some of them use and abuse their power, especially if they are law enforcement in a small town. My ExH is a cop and he used his power to take our daughter against a court order. Of course, I went to the police dept and they would do nothing because it was a "civil" matter. I'm sorry, I thought law enforcement officials were supposed to obey both criminal and civil laws???? And then I had a 9 month court battle that certainly appeared VERY biased with a supposed unbiased judge (that sees my Ex all the time in his court room) sitting on the bench. But with that said (I'm not trying to be a steperg here), I agree that your DH should be recognized for the service he does for his community. As well as the other good cops, firefighters, EMT's, etc. You can certainly tell you are proud of him!
That's awesome You and all
That's awesome You and all the good cops/police officers out there have my applause!
I try to keep my contact
I try to keep my contact with the local police officers limited!!! That being said...I applaud them for their bravery!

I'm really late but I have to respond here.
When my mom was younger their house caught on fire. My grandma had 8 kids living at home at the time. If it werent for the fast thinking and bravery of a fireman, my youngest aunt (7 at the time) would be dead right now. He ran in and saved her. Im sure her husband and two kids are very grateful for that fireman.
Just a few months ago I got home and my burgular alarm was going on. The alarm company called the cops and they came out and searched my house. They let me sit in the car and they went in guns drawn looking to make sure everything was okay. Later we realized that my remote alarm key was in my purse and was causing the alarm to go off. But when those cops went into my house they had no idea who or what was waiting for them inside.
I am forever grateful to the servicemen who put their lives at stake for the rest of us!!
Okay, I am shredding my Man
Okay, I am shredding my Man Card .... Again.
The Jen and Juice show brought a tear to my eye.
Spending time with the Stalker ladies plays hell on a guy's man card.
As I said in an earlier thread, I have the utmost repsect for the job that law enfrocement officers, fire heros, soldiers etc .... do.
They deserve the best we can do for them as they give us their best.
Have a great weekend Jen and Juice. Enjoy the beach. Be careful what you do on the sand. Getting sand out of some spots can be a bit scratchy. :O
Best regards,
