Developing a spontaneous case of Tourettes Syndrome
Recently every time I end a conversation w/ FH, even if it is about something completely benign, I am starting to spontaneously mutter to myself 'asshole" or "dick." After hanging up the phone, when he has ended the conversation with 'love you - have a good day'', i suddenly say "love you - blow me" to my empty office. This morning he left with "hope you have a nice day' and as the garage door closed I said "hope you go fuck yourself!"
We have reached an impass - a fundamental difference of opinion and he refuses to see that there is ANY way past it or to resolve it other than to just ignore it. My resentment is overflowing and, he has yet to notice my outbreak of Tourettes - although the breakout that has suddenly and horribly taken over my face (per the doctor a direct result of stress) has not escaped his notice - he seems to think I need MORE of his expert guidance on how to live. You know, since he has so much to give because he never used it where it belongs - his damned kids!!!!!

I do that too SO much! I
I do that too SO much! I "say' all of the wonderful zingers I really wanted to when we were in the middle of it but that i knew would only escalate things. It is not that i didn't think of them - I am verbally quick on my feet for a living - but it has never been good when I let fly with my snarky comments.
I also hope that the other commuters don't think I am crazy but I have been known to practice opening statements on the way to court - complete with facial expressions and gestures - so they probably do already.
Do you just go over your part or do you "do" FDH's part too? I do both - complete with voice change - totally mocking him. Yeah - I am a grown-up!!!!!
Glad you did - really! How
Glad you did - really! How did it happen? Therapy, time, talking.....?
