Waiting anxiously (and with the usual feeling of dread) for the SKIDS to arrive :S

So, FH just left with BS5 to get SD8 and SS10. I'm sitting here, enjoying the relative silence (baby is sleeping) and laughing at some of the blogs I've read on here. It'll be about 2 hours before they get here, loudly stomping their way in and yelling all at once to announce their inevitable arrival. I was told that they just got a new snake (someone for BM to talk and relate to) and that SS10 has a new (and most likely UGLY) BLUE mohawk - like he doesn't already look like a thug in the ratty clothes BM lets him wear on a daily basis! SD will most likely have more useless news about what she's been doing/who her new boyfriend is (I swear, she's gonna be 16 and pregnant!)/who she hates at school (which is pretty much everyone)/how she got suspended (AGAIN!)/etc/blah-blah-fucking BLAH! Then, FH will tell me how BM got some extra cash from SS10's "disability" cheque (he has ADHD) and is blowing it on useless things instead of paying her rent or bills or putting food in the fridge (and she accuses US of "malnourishing" the kids!) or using it to help SS's disability. Then, FH and I will spend virtually the WHOLE weekend yelling at them to stop (fighting/running around/yelling/acting civilized/etc) while they tell us that our house is boring and they never wanna come back (promises, promises!). The only high point during the weekend will be when they have to go back early for hockey practice! All in all, the same usual weekend with the SKIDS :S But hey, when they're gone, it makes me appreciate my BS5 a whole lot more, even with his antics Smile

Does anyone else dread the arrival of the SKIDS? (I know, I know! Stupid question!)

Ugh, that sucks. I will say, at least your FH yells at them with you, instead of just sits on the couch and ignores the terrible behavior, because that just adds to the fury! I hope your weekend passes as quickly as possible!

@dtzyblnd - I know, right? My thoughts exactly when I first learned about it! BM got TWO separate installments (first for $7000, then last week for $9000!!!) and she's already blown through it all! I always wondered (and still do)what that money would be for - I mean, he doesn't need special equipment to get around. Well, BM sure figured out pretty quickly what that money is for. For Easter, she got them new bikes, a new snake (to add to their ZOO of a home!) and a 3D TV (she doesn't even have CABLE for fuck's sake - she still hasn't paid the bill for that yet!), and a brand new fireplace for the house...for EASTER! I always thought it was customary to get kids chocolate bunnies??? :S FH assumes that money should be for special computer programs/tutors to help him cope with ADHD. OH! And to top it ALL off, FH told me today that SS10 is NOT on his ADHD meds, but on his anxiety meds (he knows what they each look like) ... and that's why we're not seeing a change in him! FH is even pondering writing a nice little letter to (someone involved in this diagnosis) let them know exactly what their money is paying for! Blum 3 BM thinks she's getting all this money to "help her cope with her stress" WTF??? SHE'S the one who smoked and consumed caffeine during her pregnancy, and she probably shook the kid as a baby, so now he has what he has! And SHE'S the one cashing in on it! UGH!

BUT...the weekend was actually one of the better ones (I know, it surprised me too!). SD8, who I usually have issues with, was actually on my side this weekend concerning the problems we had with SS10 and BS5. The only real problem we had was with SS10 - not listening, asking the stupidest questions (during our Easter turkey dinner, he actually asked "Is this chicken, dad?" after being told repeatedly what I was cooking for supper), and just being disgusting (he ate his piping hot turkey with his fingers because: 1) he couldn't cut it up and 2) he was too dumb to ask for a knife - not that he'd know how to use it! SMH Even his father looks at him (at times) with a disgusted "Can this really be MY child?" look!

I'm really concerned with our upcoming wedding now - I don't want the first time my parents meet SS10 to be with food all over his face :S I don't really have any issues with SD8 being there now - she'll be pretty decent, I think. But if SS10 can't make it, then SD8 won't make it either ... Can we take one and not the other??? LOL
