random rant
So I get aggravated at ss7 when he's dragged all of his hundreds of cars into the living room and proceeds to play with the baby's toys, stands on her play mat she is touching and tasting, puts his feet on her toys she puts in her mouth and dh says nothing. EVERYTHING in the house is his and he can do as he wishes. I swear I'm going to pick up dh and ss7's silverware with my feet, just randomly play with the bazillion cars he just lines along the walkway and leaves there. One time I picked up this little cars of the baby's that plays music and put it away and he comes back and says where is my truck? Can't handle much more of the me mine stuff. My dh and my wedding song is "our wedding song". Not your it's ours. Okay rant over now.....

I agree. My SD9 does, well
I agree.
My SD9 does, well used to do the same thing. She would play with all of my 9 month old's toys & put her feet all over the toys & play mat. Her feet would be dirty as & she never washes her hands after using the toilet or just in general. DH wouldn't say anything so I would. It's filthy & it's something you have every right to speak up on. My DH usually backs me up when I say something but I always have to be the first to say it, sometimes I think he thinks I'm being pedantic (he doesn't say it I can just tell). I'm not one if those over the top germ buster parents & I believe in a bit of dirt & grime to strengthen the immune system but I think SD9 is grotty beyond that & definitely shouldn't be putting her feet on the baby's toys & things. It annoys me enough that a 9 year old is immature enough to sit there & play with baby toys yet won't touch a toy or anything if her own.
I also understand your frustration at the 'everything is mine' situation. I get really worked up over this too. I have spoken to DH about it, he agrees but will never pull her up about it & it makes me so angry. I was brought up with what was my sisters, was my sisters & I would have to ask to borrow or use anything & my parents things were adults items that were theirs. I hate the whole entitlement thing like SD just thinks she owns everything & should be able to just use, touch everything. Even my things like my iPod she will just grab & start playing on. I'm sorry but no - you ask first! If its my item or my babies item I will always tell her she can't just use it or take it she needs to ask. I feel like I'm nagging but I would rather nag than let her just go ahead with everything. I think it's kind of disrespectful really.
Stop it now otherwise it will be harder to stop once it has been happening for some time. Tell DH to say something when he does it or that you will say something.
