After DH ignored MILs texts last night she sent him a long one this morning about SILs most current drama and supposed health issues. According to her we all need to have our focus on getting her better and it's all of our burden to bear.

Yep - nevermind that SIL is 32 (DHs older sister lol) and a capable adult. MIL wants her babies to be dependent forever.
doing your part
You and DH are doing your part. A person with her serious health issues should not be at a children's birthday party. Everyone knows that small kids are little germ factories. (Knowing that must be why SIL did not invite her brother's children to her child's party.) (Unfortunately you have to imagine the tone of my response .)
