Dear Valued Users,
It's with a heavy heart that we announce the permanent closure of StepTalk.org on August 31st, 2025.
This decision wasn't an easy one. For over twenty years, StepTalk has been a source of support for stepparents around the world! However, over the years, the costs associated with maintaining and upgrading the site to remain secure, meet current standards and maintain availability have become unsustainable.
We are incredibly grateful for your support, contributions and the community you've helped us build. Your engagement has made StepTalk.org a special place and we cherish the memories and connections made here.
We would especially like to thank Aniki for volunteering to be a moderator and for caring so much.
Thank you for being a part of our journey and we wish you all the best.
Sincerely,
Dawn and The StepTalk Team

Congrats on almost being done
Congrats on almost being done!! It's insane that CS goes on that longg in NY, my brain just can't wrap around it.
Countdown
1 year and 2 months! 14 months only. Here is 18 and graduate high school.
Woohoo!
That's so exciting! 21 is ridiculous. Here is 18 and graduate high school also.
DH has one more payment as
DH has one more payment as the youngest SD finishes university next month. I am sure there will still be requests for funds as she won't be self supporting yet. At least now it will be optional and DH can tell her to go ask her mother for money for a change.
21k
Toxic Troll just got her money and is burning right through it..."go ask your mother..."
I'm in the single digits
I'm in the single digits category ladies! Only 9 months to go. Although I thought the final final date was LAST Spetmeber but then DH dropped on me a few months before SD's bday that September of last year was when CS ended but he that still had to pay the ex Alimony until December of this year! I know he is the one forking over all that money but I cried when he told me this! I just so want him done giving her money!!!!
Shorter and shorter every day.
Deep breaths, and get ready for the huge raise you will get in Feb 2024.
Though my DW was the CP. We were under an 18 or HS graduation whichever is later CO. Unless SS had chosen to keep his Spermidiot on the hook for CS for college which would have extended CS until SS'ss 21st B-day. That extension shifts CS payment from being paid to the CP to being paid directly to the Kid.
SS let them guilt him out of that. Against my advice. Though, he chose to enlist in the USAF so his college costs are fully covered. DIsgustingly, after he let them off the hook for 3 more years of CS, they tried to guilt him into repaying them for the 16+ years of CS they paid. Their attempted hook was that his three younger half sibs did not have the life and childhood that he had with his professional mom and professional stepdad.
Assholes that they are.
