UnCuffed during Cuffing Season

Tis almost the season and in our parts, tis the beginning of cuffing season. Cuffing season not in relation to getting arrested, but rather that thing people do during the winter time - coupling up so you have someone to keep you warm on the darl cold nights, someone to bring to thanksgiving dinners, someone to share the holidays with and then MAYBE into the whole new years eve thing. Then after all that you might just want to be single again (lol). Explore those options once the weather brightens and lightens.

Yesterday (11/11) was husbands birthday and his youngest PP SD18 took him out to lunch for sushi, at his favorite place. YES! She has a J.O.B finally. She works at a trader joes a few towns over. I was like "yay she has her drivers license!!!" Nope. Sadly she is heavy enmeshed with a guy friend and now his girlfriend is getting squirelly because he drives her "everywhere" to include her J.O.B. Luckily and just in time, there is a new trader joes that is opening in the town where she lives in that rent assisted apartment section 8 with her mother.

AND apparently Feral Forger SD25 no longer has a boyfriend. I have been snooping and observed all kinds of lovey dovey social media posts where they demonstrated their utter infatuation and mutual admiration for each other, so I was kind of surprised...but not really it was just a matter of time, and SD18 PP confirmed it with her father.

Feral Forger has been "borrowing" money from Toxic Troll as well as her now-ex-boyfriends mother (maybe thats why it did not work out????) and she isnt working and has a hard time finding jobs that are willing to hire her because she has had so many jobs for so short a time...(hello, she wouldnt be the first person to fudge on their application, but nmcnmm) . When I mentioned "oh well is she asking YOU for money???" he just replied He!! no and she didnt even wish him Happy Bday so she better not come around expecting anything either. Hes finally getting tired of being used by his daughter not wanting to help her because he doesnt like the feeling...

Strange.

In other news, with PP she has told husband she wants to "visit sometime" and all I said was "I need to know ahead of time because we have been using that room and I have been cleaning it and redecorating". He said something weird about her wanting to "show me shes different with having a job now" to which I replied "ok so she is not going to come visit to sloth around in her room...?"

A new verb.

Clove, I've been wondering where you were! Glad to hear SD18 has a job, that's great! Can't recall, is Feral Forger living with TT? If not, where?

You know it's all going to ramp up with the holidays coming, right? Let's all just take deep breaths. Lol.

Rent

Feral Forger is renting an apartment with a friend. That I know of. Its the place husband moved her to, after her last "asking to move in because its my dads house and Im his child..." thing.

But shes been "visiting" at Toxic Trolls place and hence there is some sort of chaos...that she needs "rescuing" from.

Ive been reading, but not commenting. Taking a break because "empty nesting".

Now that no kids around, different issues are coming out.

Yes, the famous (infamous) Holiday Cycle. Where manipulative skids use the parental feelings of nostalgia to incite unearned feelings of guilt.

Expect that to end in drama. I'm guessing she learned her boundaries from her parents. But hey, at least she's working. I still can't believe she turned down a free education plus extra spending money by not doing the FAFSA.

Congrats on the peaceful house and on TT losing her relevancy via the skids aging out. And yes, deep breaths for the holidays!

SD18 PP doesnt know what healthy unenmeshed non-codependent relationships look like, so Im not surprised.

If she waits until she's

If she waits until she's older and more mature, it would be better for her anyways. LI blew through 6 freaking years of free $$$ with nothing to show for it.

Same with my SIL. Thought it wasn't free money.

She owes $6figures in school loans for a degree she never even got close to completing. She kept borrowing the max every semester, failed multiple classes each year and never repeated a single class, and was baffled when she was never admitted to the school of education and ultimately kicked out of even the the general studies track she never really was on. Lots of gnashing of teeth about how mean the administrators were, professors were, etc... She expected to get to graduate with no effort path she had in HS as a functionally illiterate individual. Attendance mattered in University. Performance mattered in university. They were happy to keep taking the loan money. She never learned that her crap does not fly in the real world.

With the end of the current Presidential administration looming, she will be stuck with the ever growing balance due to penalties and interest for life. I can't wait for leans on real property owned by those with defaulted school loans becomes a thing and she looses her mind when her house has a lien on it. Her DH will lose his shit over that. No doubt she will claim that she did not know that school loans are not forgiveable under bankruptcy. So far, that is not something she has recognized.

I know, evil of me. But watching that slimey thief squirm might just send a message to her kids not to be like mommy.
