Does anyone else feel like BM "copies" them?
So, as I was typing the letter 'K' into the search bar, Facebook decides that I'm searching for BM (and no, I wasn't) who has a picture of her Pug as her profile picture. This reminded me of how EVERYTHING DH and I have/have done for ourselves/skids, BM MUST get something "better".
When DH and I were first dating and before BM was a total psychopath, I invited her into our home (doh!) when she came to pick up the skids one afternoon. I have a Pug that BM went nuts over and started talking about how she'd love to have one and blah, blah, blah. A few weeks later, she has TWO.
One summer, we got skids a slip-n-slide. Later that week, BM gets a double slip-n-slide. We got a small pool for skids to play in, BM gets one of those huge ass pools.
We moved, BM moved in to a bigger house.
I just figured out the reason for BM's hating me! Because no matter how much she TRIES, she can't be ME!

I have the same problem with the BM in my life. The first time I met her I drove a car and had brown hair. She drove an SUV and had red hair. Fast forward to a couple of months later and she traded in her SUV for a car and dyed her hair brown.
I created a Christmas tradition of frosting sugar cookies with the all of the kids. (It's something that my stepmom did with me.) Flash forward to a couple of years and she's doing it now.
We bought SS that Skylanders game last year for Christmas. He went nuts over it. Guess who went out and bought it for him? That's right BM.
We bought SD a very nice vanity for her birthday last year. Guess who asked her to take pictures of it with her cell phone and so she could see what it looked like? That's right BM.
I wanted to get SD involved in horse back riding. We don't live in an area where we can keep a horse so I was thinking about leasing one. When BM found out about it she wanted to split the cost so she could do it with SD too.
When BM found out DH and I were getting married she found the first guy she could (just got out of prision two time convicted felon) moved him into her house and married him four months later.
When she was trying to hit DH up for money in January and he told her no that he can't afford to give her anything because we have our own bills and are planning on starting a family, guess who ended up pregnant six weeks later? That's right BM.
The BM in our life is an insecure nutjob and I'm really hoping that this baby keeps her so busy that she doesn't have the time to waste being crazy to DH. One can only hope right? She can barley afford the kids she has now but she can't let DH win. Lol. The only problem with her competing with DH is that he's not playing the game. She's so fixated on doing everything he wants to do first, better, or using our parenting ideas that she's completely screwing herself over financially. Oh well. What can you do but sit back and watch the card house that crazy built come crashing down around her.

LMAO I have that problem with my exh's girlfriend. She is psycho though. Who pretends to be pregnant and gets a pregnant friend to pee on a stick for her. Then fakes an abortion when she should be about four months pregnant and never showed. And she knew it was a girl because she was jealous of my DD.

What is with these women. I just couldn't imagine copying someone. I can understand seeing a hair cut or color on a celeb and asking for something similar but to flat our copy some random person because of some crazy chemical imbalance I'll never get. It is what it is I guess. At the rate our BM's going at she won't be able to afford to copy DH and I for much longer if not right now. Her days of crazy are limited to her funding and she can barely afford the three kids she has now.

I actually have this problem
I actually have this problem with my MIL. She copies everything. Anything I buy, she gets one too. I think she thinks she is in some serious competition with me or something. Its very strange!! At first I thought it was coincidence, but then it got really out of control!! Now when I get something, we hide it from her!! I hide my iphone when I see her. (her and fil are on our cell phone acct-if she sees my phone she will go right to the store and charge one to our acct and probably get the most expensive one)

I wear glasses all the time. So when I frist meet BM I had them on. Then Bm starts wearing glasses. She didn't do this for a long time, she probably didn't even need them, then she just stopped. The DH bought me a necklace that had the 3 diamonds. BM showed up with on on right after that, it was her mothers and I'm sure GBM didn't know she had it on. I bought a SUV so did BM. I bought a small car so did BM. I still have mine. Bm doesn't have a car now. I no longer have to deal with BM face to face. I'm so glad. I'm sure the list would be longer if I still did.

That irratates me the most
That irratates me the most too and there's really no way to combat it either. As soon as the kids make it over to BM's house they're telling her about the fun things that we all did together and then BM starts doing them too.

We bought an SUV, she immediately got one.
We took the kids to Disney, next year off SD goes again with BM.
We eat at any restraunt with SD, within a matter of weeks BM takes her there too.
I buy certain sandles, BM sees them, BM buys almost identical ones.
I cook a particular meal, SD mentions it, BM needs to cook it also.
Some of it may seem coincidental however she is a master at it. It's not just us or me, she does it to everyone. She has a serious problem with needing to keep up with whatever anyone has or is doing.
We laugh about it often. Actually I am very tempted to push her to see how far she will take it.

Every year I decorate my yard
Every year I decorate my yard with flowers and hanging plants. This past week, Swamp Hole had 3 plants hanging on her porch and light post. DH said, well Swamp used to always hang plants. I said really???? Because I haven't seen a plant here in 8 years!
