NOOOOO!
I got a text from SO on my lunch break about how there would be pizza after work. Then another after that that said "But Grandma’s coming". That means his mother will be there. So I ask for clarification, and he says he’s fixing his mom and stepdad’s car, and so they will be coming over and bringing pizza.
Hurray! Not. I always feel like such a witch, but the idea of having to entertain them for like two hours while SO gets to escape by being outside fixing the car is enough to make me want to stab myself with a fork. I’m seriously considering doing some shopping or something after work so that I conveniently get home late. I’m horrible, I know, but I don’t enjoy spending time with his mother, and the thought of doing it alone, just me, them and SD6 makes me feel slightly sick.
She honestly reminds me of Marie from Everybody Love's Raymond. She's the one who found out I was taking SD6 to a school carnival and sent me a LIST of all the poses of pictures she needed me to take of SD6. I once mentioned how I hope to be able to take SD6 to Disney World someday and her response was "Well, I think that'd be nice. I'd enjoy being the one to take her there"...

Yes, sometimes I have to work
Yes, sometimes I have to work late. It might be one of those nights!
I keep telling myself, no, I should go but then I think about conversing with someone who starts every sentence off with "Now I'm not trying to put so-and-so down BUT"...and I feel like this poor smiley face guy...
Nothing wrong with going
Nothing wrong with going shopping alone. Tell yourself you are letting your SD have special time with just her Grandparents because you are so unselfish like that. Then go enjoy the peace somewhere else. Pizza is not worth being annoyed imo http://3990af75ea7a8bf97cb4-b0446e41c2e3e1f0aa02307087d3fde1.r41.cf2.rac...
Sorry, tried to put a smile
Sorry, tried to put a smile face icon on this and instead printed this link and I don't even know what it is
Pizza is so not worth it. I'd
Pizza is so not worth it. I'd need pizza and beer, minimum, to get through it.
There better be some Xanax
There better be some Xanax underneath the pepperoni.
For sure!
For sure!
That's always been my policy.
That's always been my policy. She is a negative energy to me, and I try and surround myself with people who have a positive energy. She is full of complaint and manipulative behavior.
My late MIL was Marie
My late MIL was Marie Barone...Drove me nuts. Finally, I learned to embrace her personality and accept her. Also, I learned what she liked to do with BS and what she didn't. Made my life easier once I figured her out. She died a few years ago and I miss her. But, she drove my nuts early on in my marriage, the relationship we had the last few years was great.
Find out what she likes with SD and let her do it. For my MIL it was shopping for BS20. So I let her do it. She hated babysitting when he was little. Figure it out and it may be a good relationship. For me, it was awesome to let her buy him toys and clothes. It saved me money.
I would say to wait until you
I would say to wait until you are invited, and if they complain they don't see you enough, just tell them that you don't want to over-step and would be happy to visit whenever invited.
