Ironic twist - Medusa's dad is ill. As in, he is likely going to die very soon. One of the major arteries to his brain is seriously compromised (he says that it no longer functions and has "crystallized"??) and another is 90% blocked.

He has been all over the country and every doctor he meets with has told him there is nothing that can be done.
