I don't want to go to jail. I don't want to go to jail. I don't want to go to jail. I don't want to go to jail. I don't want to go to jail.

If SS15 doesn't stop automatically correcting or arguing with every bloody thing I say, I will be going to jail. He is becoming a mansplainer. AND I don't know where he gets it from. It is driving me NUTS. It is disrespectful; frustrating; and I swear, I am going to kill him.

Last night; I advised him to make it a practice to NOT SAY A THING for 15 seconds; and to take those 15 seconds to really think about what he is going to say. His XBox is on the line. I am trying to get this point through when DH says, "What if I need him to respond faster than that?"

GORAM IT! Nice Undermining there! Make me look stupid in front of the Kid. So much for a united front. SS15 is laughing because he thinks Dad made a funny for him. I am still mad about it. DH doesn't understand why I am so upset.

If it wasn't for the fact that this constant back talk and automatic correction/arguing happens for every f-ing thing we say; maybe I wouldn't care. But you know what; I am not respected in my home. Methinks, it's time to spend my time in my room for a while; at least my cat respects me.

SD was doing this for awhile.

I made sushi, she had to tell me I was doing it wrong. Even though she doesn't eat sushi and her 11yr old self had never made it.

DH and I called her out on it every single time. We even laugh that we knew she was becoming a teenager because she now "knows everything". I guess she got tired of us calling her out and laughing because she doesn't do it very often any more.

What does your DH think about SS's "knowing everything" attitude?

Don't worry when the kid starts doing it to your husband he will change his tune. Then you can listen to him bitch about how his son is always arguing and you can just stare at him in silence or smile and say "I told you so"

ah the wonderful start up life of a teen }:) }:) }:) }:)

You can have s much fun with this..... my brat went through this stage as well lol....

I would tell him something.. he would argue and I simply say, fine proof your point that you are right, you have half an hour to obtain the info, if you can't show me you are right you loose the phone for a week....

First he ignored me.... then he lost his phone (no games in my house) second time he scrambled and started to research his stupid answer to proof he's right, took him half an hour, when he came back with his research... we talked about it and I taught him - every one has an opinion, no one is wrong, you do not argue with some one unless you know you are right and have fact.... after a couple off months of him doing research he stopped....

even now if he's bored he would strike up an argument lol..... it's become a game in our house

Just remember- nobody looks good in orange! My ex-SS (now 18) was the exact same way, and I used to have to literally just walk away from him when he got that way, which was often. I would be in prison for life if I hadn't!

Thanks, Guys. It's good to know I am not alone. I am going to practice the walking away thing because it is driving me nuts...seriously nuts.
