mediation
DH and I were told by our attorney that in mediation not to bring up past events.
DH went to mediation today, BM is trying for 100% placement (it is now 50/50) and all the mediator did was bring up the past. Also, all of her questions were aiming towards abuse, sex, drinking, they even asked him if he ever killed/beat a family pet. The questions appeared to be off the wall.
I think BM knows that the courts like 50/50 because it is in the best interest of the child and the only way for her to get 100% is to lie about abuse. Abuse of a child is the only thing that would take away DH custody/placement rights.
DH is a good dad and would never harm his or any child. DH and I do drink and the mediator suggested that we don't drink in front of SD (which is ridiculous since she is 13-years-old) but the kid dwells on drinking and counts our drinks. She makes me nuts, SD acts like a victim possibly because her BM takes her to PADA (people against domestic abuse) meetings and she listens to all the ladies who are abused. SD was never abused, but did witness her mother get abused by a former step father. I think it is ok for victims to get help, but why drag kids to their meetings?
Anyone ever experience this?

the courts do not like the 50/50 deal. They will not order it unless both parties are wanting it and have already established a good working relationship with one another since the split. (and seriously, how often does that happen?) The courts think it does not allow for the child to get well established in their home going back and forth, having different rules in each house etc.

no agreement, a 2nd mediation is needed
this mediation was just DH and mediator, the next one will be DH + BM + mediator. the mediator was very interested in the fact the girls grades went down while with BM. She went from a GPA of 3.733 to a GPA of 1.977, the mediator recommended bringing a copy of the grades to the 2nd mediation. Another decline in the SD was hygeine (BM has poor hygeine too) and SD always sound depressed and apethetic on the phone when calling her at BM.
