Happy Valentine's Day
My Valentine's Day has already started out right - My fiance went outside to get one of my gifts from the car. On the first step he slipped and landed in a snowbank. He put his hand out to stop his fall and was up to his shoulders in snow. He said that some guy was walking on the sidewalk directly in front of the house when he bit it and laughed! Well, as soon as I saw him all snow covered just trying to get a present for me, I laughed too. Then he showed me where he fell - there are 5 perfect finger holes in the snow. That is the best start to any Valentine's Day I have ever had. We shared a few good belly laughs over it and will surely laugh over this one for a long time.
My wish is that everyone gets a little appreciation and extra love today.

My DH
Leaves for work very early. But he did wake me with a kiss and tell me "Happy Valentine's Day." I never would have remembered that early in the morning.
He's a sweet man.
Happy V-day to you too!
Peace, love, and red wine
My V.D. started at 6:50 am
My V.D. started at 6:50 am when my mother, who always forgets I'm in a different time zone, called to tell us it snowed at her house. Actually, she called to tell the kids, but they were still in bed, as was my hubby, who works nights. I had just gotten up myself. So hubby answered the phone, told her what time it is here and then handed me the phone. I could hear him grumbling as he rolled over to go back to sleep. I got on the phone with her and she said, "Oh, I'm sorry! I keep forgetting you're an hour behind us!" I said, "That's okay, Mom. You've been called those names before." We had a nice chuckle. Now I have one kid up and getting ready for school, the little one and hubby still in bed, so I'm not sure how we're going to do the Valentine's exchange, since hubby will be at work when the oldest gets home from school. I'll be so glad when he goes back to first shift!
i got nothing
My FH has been in a mood these last few days, and when I asked what was wrong he told me nothing and walks out of the room
I called later to say I was stuck in traffic and asked again that if soemthing was wrong to either talk to me about it or if I did something let me know so I can fix it..I get "why are you always wanting to start trouble why cant anything just be ok!!!" I said fine everything is ok and hung up-Happy F* Valentines day.

sorry sai
I do hate it when they get in a mood, some men more than others it seems. You know something's up (or they're just bad tempered) but they won't say or snap out of it.I've had birthdays and things when my BF's acted like that.I hope he calms down later.I know we don't know each other massively but I'm sending you *hugs*.
DAZED
you made my morning
thank you so much!!!
“You will never be on top of the world
if you try to carry it on your shoulders.”
it did hurt
I did not tell him but it hurt that he yelled at me and did not even acknowledge it was Valentines day ( and I do not expect a gift but at least a hug???)
It has been hard not to cry about it.
“You will never be on top of the world
if you try to carry it on your shoulders.”
you know, I find that men
you know, I find that men act like assholes when they are emotional. Is there any way he is feeling emotional about things and is expressing it that way? My dad explained that guys get antsy around holidays and important days because they feel insecure or unsure that they are doing the right thing - knowing that women all talk to each other and compare. I hope yours isn't just being a jerk. Don't cry! Crying on Valentine's day is the WORST.
PS - he fell again when he got to work! I sure hope we don't end up spending the night at the hospital tonight!
My Dad...
Was ONLY nice around the holidays because he loved it all- in sort of a manic way (Dad's a hoarder.) My mom finally moved out a few years ago, but,and after having both her knees replaced, Dad has ended up virtually moving in to her apartment. He came to help her recooperate through the surgery, then never left. He still has the other house filled with stuff too.
Anyway...mom emailed me Thur that she woke up to 2 dozen roses. I never saw my dad give my mom a Valentines Gift...let alone flowers, my whole life. Sometimes they get it, but only after it costs the marriage. She doesn't know how to tell him to leave her apartment. Weird.
Peace, love, and red wine
maybe
I think he is having problems with his oldest Bs-
and he usually is quite caring and kind. It just hurt that I did not even get a VD kiss and he has not problem Yelling at me about something stupid.
thanks for the comic relief, I hope he does not end up there either all though it would be a VD to remember!!
thanks for caring silver!!

Mine is not starting out good
I spent 2 freaking hours in the car going to work ( normal is 40 ) I had to pee the last hour of it & I too have a yeast infection so it was doubly great.
I used to have a 15 minuet commute but sold my new house to live in his fixer upper because it was sooo close to the kids. Biggest mistake of my life.
I now have to work late so I will now be going home during the worst of rush hour & will miss out on spending time with my son. I should get home to cook dinner & put my baby down. The only good thing is the kids will be gone & we won't have them again till Tuesday. They don't have school Monday so as long as DH isn't providing after school care BM doesn't let DH have them.
I really hate being married & having step kids. I wish I was just a single mom with my baby. I would have more time, energy & money.
I am sorry
I am scared all the time about marrying my FH..
that is why I keep putting it off.
I wish you a very happy Vday!!
there is lots of love here!!!!

FH and I both have to work on this lovely day! We can't do anything special together. So far I only got him a card.
"Look at how far you've come and stop concentrating on how much further there is to go."
Little things
I'm not big on large presents, I'd rather get something he put some thought into. But he only did that one time (for our first anniversary). So I'm not holding my breath. He basically admitted last night that he hasn't gotten me anything. Now I know he will run out and buy the first thing he can think of. This morning I gave him a card and a little heart-shaped basket filled with red peanut M&Ms (his favorite). I took our two BD to pick him out a card, and they got him a giant Hershey's kiss. Then I spent all last evening (while he was at spin class) making him black and white cookies (with two BDs supervising/spectating). He loves them, and I can't find a bakery around here that carries them. I'm going to give those to him tonight.
Chocolate Rose
My DH has given me a chocolate rose every Valentine's Day since we've been together. I put the year on one of the petals and add them to my "bouquet" which sits on my dresser so that I see it every morning when I wake up. DH is a very romantic soul and knows that I appreciate the simple things (and he appreciates me for that LOL).
Anyway, to be sure he got the chocolate rose this year without running out of time, he bought it early January when he was shopping for my birthday and had it stashed all this time.
Good thing I'm not a snoop.
I'm still madly in love with him after 10 years despite the reason I'm on this site.

So far this has been a super day
I really think I needed a day like this. My dh just made my day super. He gave me the sweetest card and little surprises and sent me flowers at work. I can't wait to see him tonight. We are going to one of our favorite restraunts for dinner.
He is such a neat guy. He makes it all worth it.
I hope that all of you ladies have a super day; you all deserve it!
Sai, I am sorry about your fh. I hope your day gets better.

DH stood for Dearest Husband yesterday
I got out of the shower yesterday morning and had a card waiting on the dresser. It said something along the lines of "I know this didn't start out the way we were expecting, but the things that have happened have just made our love stronger and I'm glad we have arrived at this place we are now". It was very fitting and almost made me cry. DH had left a card and Hershey's kisses for my BD also. Then about 1:30 in the afternoon a dozen red roses arrived. (Remember my DH works in the same building as me). Before they arrived I kept noticing he was coming up to check on me - I guess he was worried they weren't going to be delivered. Then at 2:30 a mens quartet arrived and sang two Valentines songs to me while DH stood by my desk. I reached over to hug him and the back of his neck was sweating profusely. People were standing out in the hallway watching and I found out after work the receptionist was recording it. That was funny!
Needless to say he got some last night!
Only a card
Oh well. I got a card from my husband and one from BDs (which he helped them sign as they are 1 and 4). That's it. I stood there and watched him hand out candy and toys to the kids and thought, "Well, we know who comes No. 1 in this family." And it's not me. I'm not mad or bitter, exactly, just disappointed I suppose (but not surprised). On the other hand, I focused my efforts on husband and actually didn't get anything for the kids. Guess it all balanced out!
