Dh gets it! So amazing...

Most of you know my dh is away with military stuff. He had a pass today so I drove up to see him. While there he called ss (he called other kids too) but I sat and listened to my dh ask ss if he was doing good, how he was,etc-and ss replied that he was doing good-his grades were improving and he really was doing good (as dh sounded doubtful) so ss assured him that he was really doing great-playing baseball and talking about his games and such.

So I didnt say anything at first and then finally I said, "SS got in school suspension again on Thursday and he got sent home from school on Friday by the counselor" Dh said, "when I get home that shit is going to stop!" I asked him what he meant and he said ss had no business playing extracurriculars if his behavior was so bad
and that he would do whatever it took to put a stop to it. He told me that one of the things he has learned from his experiences over the years is that "life is too short to take shit from anyone" (I couldnt believe he said that in reference to ss!) Then I said, "yep, that's what I've been thinking for years". and he turned to me and said, "I am so sorry I put you thru all this stuff all these years and I want to spend the rest of my life making it up to you!" (Referencing how ss's been treating me for years and how he has not put a stop to it). Is this for real? I keep wanting to take video of it-in case dh suddenly forgets he said all this stuff on down the road!

Wow! Nice! I bet he is serious about it. Just recently, my DH has started to realize that SD is not as sweet as he always thought. For some reason, it just hit him all of a sudden. And I agree with the sports-Same with SD, BM keeps in her in a very expensive soccer league while she continues to get in trouble at school, not do homework and even stealing! There should be NO soccer for SD.

I'm happy to hear your DH understands Smile
