Is this a joke??

OMG... the stupid knows no bounds... It transfers from BM to SD.

This is a 'big' year for SD. I think its ridiculous, but she needs 3 dresses (and shoes etc) for various events coming up. She is 14- and has "graduation". C'mon now. (my personal opinion is that grad is at the end of Grade 12- before you venture off to hopefully higher learning. Grade 8 is a just a grade)

Anyway- apparently leaving grade 8 and going to Grade 9 has become a circus. DH will be out of town for the 'ceremony' so she invited us to take her dress shopping as a consolation prize. :O

I have no trouble with DH buying her a dress for a special occasion. It was the way she went about it.

I just looked at her blankly and I know my eyebrows shot up.

What is scarier is that her and BM are about the same size, and she could end up in a skanky special borrowed from the whore.

My SD would have the blingy-est, trashiest dress ever if DSO or BM took her to shop....or it would be too small bc SD liked it so much she had to have a dress that didn't fit.

I took SD shopping for winter boots. After I shot down the hooker boots, she was bitchy. Then she found a pair that IMO were hideous but she LOVED them. She has worn them 1 time bc they rubbed blister on her feet. Her and I wear the same size pretty much and I couldn't get them on my feet. She bought them bc they were the most fancy pair of boots, not what would fit.

We dealt with this last year. We gave her 50.00 and let her mom take her shopping. I was generous and felt that 50.00 would be 1/2 of what a dress and shoes should cost. SO had no clue what dresses and shoes cost. SD of course was wanting more than that she actually expected us to fork over 300.00 for her big day. SO told he she was crazy!!! So he gave her the 50.00 I figured it got us off the hook of taking her shopping and put BM in the hot seat to pony up some cash for her portion.

What I knew would happen was that BM was pocket the money and spend the bare minimum on SD. Which is exactly what happened. BM is the queen of scamming people, they borrowed a dress and shoes and had friends do her hair and makeup. I think BM paid the 20.00 for SD to get her nails done which probably came out of the money we gave SD lol.

DH buys the winter coat EVERY year.

Last year we also bought boots- she showed up with these disgusting smelly things. She is super rough on her shoes and no one shows her how to clean anything, so salt stains abound.

After 2 months she showed up in ballet flats, with boots in a bag bc she had busted the sole somehow. 100$ boots, broken and BM couldn't foot the 10$ to repair them? Screw her. I gave SD an old pair of mine to wear bc it was snowy, and the boots went back to BM.

The dress itelf doesn't bug me, it is the implied, "lucky you- you get to take me shopping!!' DH will NEVER give cash anymore. BM is too much of a liar.
