Visiting SS recap, not all good, repost/corrected
Sorry,a repost. I did not copy my entire blog in the previous one.
I have come back home, happy and content SS was very nice to us. Well, to me anyway. He was thrilled when we gave him the documents and photographs. SS kept asking if those were the only photos. He must have noticed a lot were missing. I did not have the heart to tell him the truth. He seemed happy with what we got though. Saturday, he took us up on our offer to watch his daughter for him. We spent 4 amazing hours looking after our precious granddaughter before SS came back home. I was so relieved that SS had not been drinking. He just went out with his friends. He is not 21 but with college kids, who knows right?
It was really cute that SS would text us every hour to ask how Sarah was doing. He is such a good father. We are really proud at how much he has matured. My husband had the best time seeing his granddaughter and son again. Sarah loved being kissed by my husband because his beard was tickly. She kept coming back for more. I took a boatload of pictures.
SS was still pretty cold with his father. I could tell he was trying not to show it, but it was noticeable to me. I am not sure how much of it my husband noticed. On Sunday, SS invited a few friends he made in the building for lunch. It was great to meet them. They were all very nice and polite. I hope SS continues to have nice people around him. SS made asparagus, ham and mashed potatoes. Have I mentioned how amazing he cooks?
After the lunch, it was us three again. SS had some documents with him for us to sign. It was about his will and guardianship of Sarah. We looked over them and discussed a few things. SS began telling us how he wished Sarah to be raised. We were two old coots being lectured on parenting. I guess we kind of needed it. He was very reasonable. Good discipline, getting good grades, and college would be Sarah's only option. And no boys until she turns 18, haha. We told him we would make sure his wishes were followed. And then we left. I got a hug from SS. My husband got a handshake. My husband was a bit dissapointed. But I do not know how much longer SS will be cold with his father. SS has quite a temper and I do not know if he will forget all the years of anger he has held against his father. I just pray it will get better in time.
That was a great update.
That was a great update. Thanks for sharing. I am sure your SS will reconcile with his father. He sounds very mature. It is nicve to see sort of nice stories here.
