New Judgement - FYI

Has anyone ever heard of a judgement where the child cannot be around any non-related men when in care of the Mother?

We just received that... We have physical custody of my stepson the BM as visitation every other weekend and on Wed. nights. We asked for less time with his mother, becasue she is not a good parent, but we could not prove she was 'unfit', even though for the last few months she had supervised visits with my stepson because she puts him in harms ways with the all of her 'men' some are physically abusive to her and my stepson. This is scary, it is amazing to me that the courts always say they are putting the kids interests first, but I have never seen that, they always put the Mothers needs first.

Just wondering if any of you have heard of this, if its something new in the courts just wanted to let you know this could be a scary thing for some familys.

DH had in his divorce decree that no one could spend the night that wasn't married to the Bio. I have heard of what you have received as well. Good luck. Let us know how you proceed.

Yes, my brother is waiting for his divorce to come through & he had them put in a paragraph stating that his ex has to introduce my brother to any man she wishes to have their son around, & that she has to wait for at least 4 months after my brother has met them to be able to introduce their son to him.

As it is, the man she left my brother for has 2 kids of his own he's had no desire to spend time with in the 10 years since him & his ex split, & has no intention of ever having anything to do with my nephew. She left my brother back around March & has yet to express any desire to introduce him & this guy.

There have been a number of weekends she's opted out of visitation because of it. The weekends she has had him, she's had him at her parent's place, but it's never been overnight.

I agree that it can be a scary thing, but I also think it keeps a lot of kids from becoming accustomed to a casual encounters environment.
