Sad end to the story

I was on this site some time ago with lots of problems with my partners children, and got some great adviceand support. Anyway, I ended the relationship 8 months ago. However my partner committed suicide last week. It is horrendous for all, especially the children. I am not sure what I am saying to everyone, just that be careful in these difficult blended family situations Sad

That's so sad. Sorry for your loss. Don't blame yourself. People who commit suicide are selfish beings. Now what happens to his kids?

People who commit suicide are not selfish human beings. They are clearly people with demons and pain that they feel they can no longer deal with. They often feel alone, dejected and like those people involved in their lives would be better off without them.

That said, if his love for his children could not help him see a brighter future, nothing could have changed him.

I am sorry. I too left BD because he was wither mentally ill or possessed or likely both. I could not carry his burden, nor wanted his demons to affect my life. It is a very sad story, but life is full of them. Prayers to you and his children.

I'm glad you didn't mention feeling guilt although I'm sure nobody can experience this without feeling some. You had to do what you did or in effect sacrafice your life instead and nobody can predict these sort of things.

Obviously with 8 months seperation it wasn't directly connected. I hope you can continue moving on with your life despite this setback.

Thank you everyone so much for your kind thoughts. He was mentally ill, severly depressed, and he thought everyone and the world was better off without him. Tragic.
Big hugs to eveyone on the site, I probably won't be on it again!
