Need some advice please

Step Kids with Disabilities

18 SD is constantly telling us lies. We have taken thing away and she is currently grounded. But the lies continue to fly out of her mouth. Yes she has a cognitive disability but we don't think that is an issue, or is it part of the problem?????

Please Help

Does she see a therapist of any sort? I would ask them if this behavior is normal for someone with her particular disability.

residential care and meds if psychiatrists finds it appropriate. Vocational/occupational therapy too so she can start and look for employment. And get her as independent as possible and as soon out of the house as you can

Lies are sometimes to protect themselves or others.
Is she seeing a professional? I would highly recommend therapy so she can have a 3rd party person to open up to.
