Happy Tuesday, STalkers! I'm soooooo glad it's not Monday because yesterday was extremely POOPIE!!!
What do you do when you're craving sweets? You don't want to eat an entire sleeve of Oreos or a quarter of that cake you baked.
Here are some things to eat:
Life is cuh-razy, too much is going on, and you don't have time to get to the gym.
Got 5-6 minutes?
Here are some workouts you can do anywhere, any time.
Do each exercise for one minute. Rest 15 seconds between each activity.
It's Tuesday! Anyone else feel like the week is moving slower than molasses in January? Sigh...
We often talk about physical workouts, but what about our brains? While aerobic exercise is good for the brain (increased heart rate pumps more blood to the brain), it's also important to do some brain exercises.
Some exercises to sharpen your mental skills:
Happy Tuesday, STalkers!! Sorry I dropped the TuT and EOF balls, but it's been cuh-razy at work.
Let's talk about healthy food substitutes. I had someone "accuse" me of trying to eliminate food from my diet. Well, no, not exactly. I'm trying to EAT HEALTHIER and that's a whole 'nother animal.
Some of my fave things:
Where’s your socks?
How many of us are guilty of putting on close-toed shoes without socks? After Winter (warm, fuzzy socks rule!), people often forego socks in favor of letting their feet 'breathe'. Not the best idea. There’s that word some folks luuuuuuuv to hate….
Are you doing your cardio?
Cardiovascular exercise (Cardio), also known as aerobic exercise, is anything that raises your heart rate and makes you breathe heavily. Carido helps increase the strength of your heart and lungs and can also help you improve your endurance during workouts. Cardio helps you burn fat and calories for weight loss and makes your heart stronger so it doesn’t have to work as hard to pump blood. It increases your lung capacity and helps reduce your risk of heart attack, high cholesterol, high blood pressure, diabetes, and improves mental health.
Happy Tuesday, STalkers! Sorry I'm so late, but it's been a crazy day.
There are days (weeks!) when it's impossible to anticipate what will happen and if you'll be glued to your desk or need your running shoes. Today is a running shoes kinda day. No doubt about - running around with a cup of coffee can be hazardous!!
What do you to when you're so busy running around that you barely have time to go the bathroom, much less eat? Candy bar? Protein bar? Bag of pretzels? Protein shake? Nuts?
LET'S GET WET!!!
And by wet, I mean your body. On the inside.
Your body depends on water to survive. Every cell, tissue, and organ in your body needs water to work properly. Your body uses water to maintain its temperature, remove waste, and lubricate your joints. Water is needed for overall good health.
Who likes being in/on the water? Well, tt’s that time of year when water sports and activities can be outdoors – woo hoo!!!
There are many benefits to aquatic exercise, including physical and psychological. Swimming and other aquatic activities can be valuable to a person’s overall physical and mental health. People who are recovering from an injury, have a disability, or experience stress would benefit highly from aquatic therapy.
Or, in my case, Monday 2.0. Blech! The good news is that I'm down 2 pounds,. The bad news - NO idea how I did it. Must have been the protein in those maple-bacon donuts I had on Saturday...
What is a childhood activity that you still enjoy? If you say "None" or can't think of anything, that's sad! I don't care how old you are...SAD. A trip back to childhood can be FUN and possibly reduce your stress level.
