Wouldn't you like to throw the proof out there
Are you ever tempted to or has anyone shown the Stepkids, in-laws, anyone the proof of all the lies the BM made, all the cancelled checks that she lied about, all the extra things you did that she lied about, all the emails she sent that she lied about them in.... I'm just so tempted to scan all the documented proof I have of all the crap over the last 17 years and put it out there. Is that what I need to do to release this anger and hatred I have for this woman and get over it? Aren't we supposed to forget and forgive to be better people?

Winnings/ Bonus
Hypothetical question. If I were to win any money or get a bonus, or inheritance is it also considered a part of my husband's income since we're married....?

Dh doesn't feel that "paternal" connection
After the responses to my last question, I'm curious how many Dh's or NCP don't feel that connection with their kids from their previous marriage. He has a great relationship with our sons, of course that may be the male bonding

Should he pursue DNA testing
Child support is almost over but my husband really questions whether she is actually biologically his or not. Should he pursue legally getting a DNA test? Can he when she's turning 18 soon? I'm not even sure the test results would be available before she turned 18. He obviously isn't wanting to know to get out of CS since it will be done soon, just wants to really know. Is it worth opening that can of worms? I have a feeling it would give her just another reason to ignore us until she wants something of course.

Cashing Checks
Anybody else here have an issue with the BM bitching and whinning to everyone about how broke she is and how she doesn't have any money to afford this or that---- But she's the one who gets the checks and just holds on to them for sometimes 2-3 weeks until cashing them. WTF. If you can hold that large a check but you're unemployed and need this and that; it doesn't make any sense. And I know the exact date the checks are delivered because we pay the extra service with usps.

Discovered a drug possession conviction for SD
Apparently my oldest SD was arrested when she was 17 for possession of less than an ounce and she plead guilty to it. WTF. We were never told at the time that it happened. I just happened to run across it doing a search on the courts online for the same last name. I don't understand how she could have been arrested and they didn't notify us too. This blows my mind. Should we contact the courts and find out more about what happened. What the hell kind of lies did that BM say and what else has been kept from us...

O/T I would love a little girl
Off topic here but I thought I'd get some opinions
My husband had two daughters during his first marriage.
In the last 13 years we have had 3 sons. I would love to have a little girl. Any advice on how to conceive to give myself a little advantage to having a girl? Foods, positions, etc. Maybe I should just get a dog lol.

Gifts
How do ya'll do gifts? My husband's oldest stepdaughter is living with a man and they have a two year old together. Last year we didn't give the same amount to him as to her. Trying to keep it equal between the two daughters right.... well with a granddaughter now and the boyfriend whom seems to be a pretty good relationship. We were going to give gift cards to the daughter and her boyfriend separately but should they be equal value and then buy toys for the grandbaby. What about the younger SD that just recently decided to apologize ....

An apology
My husband hasn't spoken to his youngest daughter since February of this year. Now all of the sudden he gets a message from her that she is sorry and wrong for all the things she said and did and she truly loves and cares about all of us and her half brothers... All these things her mother made her do (got to see if I can print these text messages off his cell). And this is happening with Christmas just a month a way and her graduation 6 months away. Then she later in the night sends a text about her mother not being her favorite person right now.

When are they responsible
So just to get ideas here when do we consider the kids to be old enough to accept responsibility for their actions and behaviors and stop blaming it on the fact that they come from a 'broken' home. They are old enough to drive by themselves in most states at 16, they are old enough to vote for our president at 18...I honestly don't know anyone who had the perfect childhood with the perfect "leave it to beaver" parents who never yelled, lost their temper or always parented 'correctly'. So at what age do these kids become responsible for their choices to act the way they do...
