I feel like my life is on

I feel like my life is on hold for SO. Given I have chosen this but sometimes I wish he'd give me a bit of credit.

I just want to move on. I know he does too but he's stuck in this situation of waiting for the divorce. I am not and there are days that makes it harder.

I am very happy with him as a partner. I want to be with him for the rest of my life. Yep I'm crazy. I just want that life to start asap.

But until that stupid divorce order is finalized WE can't move on together. We can't get married and we can't share a married life.

Its silly stupid perks of being married. Like being together on car insurance - cheaper and 1 bill vs 2. Being able to buy a home together - we need my credit score and his VA benefits (if just the loans they offer). Even just being able to file for taxes together if we so chose which would help me a lot since I'm falling in a higher bracket than him but just BARELY so together we'd be well in the lower bracket.

I'm also terrified of ending up sick again. Thankfully my mother supports my relationship with him but if she didn't then legally he has no ability to even see me if I'm out of it. Let alone ensure that my wishes are followed which we have spoke about in depth.

I'm expecting some negative feedback from this but still helps to just say it because I feel like I can't most times. I know that's just how things are with this kind of situation but it still SUCKS.

Thank you. Honestly I'm not sure if it's worth it.

On the off (but possible) chance I end up in a hospital again my mom does support him. She has in the past allowed / facilitated letting partners of mine see me. The last time this happened I was working through my divorce and dating someone else. My "husband" didn't care but my boyfriend did. My mom knew I didn't want "husband" to see me and she left my boyfriend in. So thankful it's never been a huge issue. It's just one of those small worries I have. I'm not sure if its worth the cost to speak to our lawyer about it when right now we're all working towards the divorce being done. We're basically waiting on the court hearing which is taking forever.

DFTT, you are the only one who can decide whether or not it's worth it. I've been through some really crappy stuff. But you know what? I'd go back and DO IT AGAIN to be where I am today. Whether or not it's worth it in the long run remains to be seen. If it turns out to NOT be, well, chalk it up to a lesson learned.

While I do need to vent I do recognize that I am at the end of the day happy. I don't blame my partner for the divorce being delayed. I can see he is actively working on it. He is a good dad to his kids and is very supportive towards me. He works hard and does his part at home too.

The main source of negativity is his ex. I am very lucky that she is not as bad as those I have read about here. While I think she's very possibly a demon sent from hell to suck the joy out of the would, I'd have to say she's a minor one.

Thankfully she isn't an active disruption in our day, more a small cloud that likes to pop up.

Last trip we paid $80 for a bucket of 6 beer at the pool. The waitress don’t come around the tables very often and if you don’t tip them at least $5 every drink, you never see them.

We love Fremont Street and the entertainment of people watching is free.
The tour of the neon museum is fun if you like hearing about old Vegas.
