Being a third wheel sucks!!
Does anyone else feel like a total outcast in there own house?? All the kids and my husband snuggled up on the couch and you feel lik a idiot!
After being with my Husband for 4 years, and I have learnt alot about myself and having my SD and SS living with us 50% of the time. I still have so much trouble with not feeling like I'm part of the family unit.. I just wish I could just jump in but just never can!
We are currently on a family holiday out skiing and I'm here on my phone feeling like a idiot...
My husband is so supportive but he think at the end of the day is my issues that is holding me back. The kids aren't rude or anything to me but I don't feel any love etc from them..
Grrr

Do you feel love TOWARD
Do you feel love TOWARD them?

What is keeping you from "jumping in?" I can honestly say, and I have a GREAT relationship with my now adult SD, that it felt "weird" to be affectionate with her for awhile. It just felt kinda awkward. It took getting over that on my part to really step into feeling like a "family."
I completely understand! I
I completely understand! I feel the exact same way. I experienced this identical scenario tonight. DH and skids are snuggled on the couch watching a movie and I was sitting on the recliner wondering why I feel like an outsider. So glad to know we're not alone!
Well the kids and I we are
Well the kids and I we are friends.. They have a mum and dad.. I never wanted to take on a parent role.
I'm a adult in the house who they respect.. And we get along and laugh.. I care very much for them but just I guess thought after all this time I would have that special bond with them..
But I guess I get jealous maybe, I don't know
