Several reasons I stopped buying ANY clothes for them!
Even though I LOVE LOVE LOVE to buy girl clothes and I LOVE LOVE LOVE bargains, I stopped buying ANYTHING for SD12 & SD13. First, because NOTHING was coming back from BM's after I would make sure everything they wore from her house went back (I stopped doing that!) and I saw BM's bf's daughter wearing things I bought! OH NO!!!!!!!
Second, they don't care, AT ALL, about how they put things away ... I don't expect them to be as neat & tidy as me, but when I bought a basket for clothes that hang and another for clothes in the dresser and that wasn't paid any mind, well then forget it!
And finally, they don't understand the concept of PAJAMAS! When I first moved in with them 3 years ago, I explained to SO that school clothes/nice clothes shouldn't be slept in (they would sleep in anything they wore that day .... a skirt, a dress, jeans, etc) and pajamas should be worn to bed. I understand sometimes we fall asleep in regular clothes from time to time. But, I purposely bought them pj's, cheap shorts/tanks from WalMart, etc that could be worn as pj's or just "bum around" clothes ... and still here we are 3 years later ... what did they wake up in this morning? The clothes they wore yesterday!
I stopped even saying anything about it to SO because I'm done buying anything ... I just went shopping for myself while they weren't here and you should have seen the look on their faces when I had NOTHING for them (I used to just pick up cheap stuff at Old Navy, etc .... NOPE NOT ANYMORE!!)... I'm not trying to be mean, I'm just done wasting my breath and my money!!!

That's where I am now too. I just bought them 250 dollars in school clothes and not even a thank you. I wasn't even going to do that, but the uniforms needed to be bought one way or another and it would have cost me more in the long run to take a stand right then and leave it to him. He would have just gone to the mall and bought itball full priced and then not had money to pay the bills.
But that is the last purchase I will make for them, outside of Xmas and birthdays if I feel inclined. It's just expected by everyone in the house that Peanut will buy everything. From now on my clothing purchases will be for my BSs only.

Oh my goodness! Both SD12 & SD13 don't wipe their butts properly STILL! It's gross!
We have the laundry issue as well. I also quit washing their clothes and make SO do it. So they have their own hamper and if/when they actually put dirty clothes in the laundry area, they put them in MY BASKET! WTF?!
My issue is that these girls are in 7th and 8th grade ... and with the amount we've told them many of these things numerous times, I'd think they'd get it by now! Then again, BM does EVERYTHING for them, so trying to "undo" that at our house is almost impossible .... plus, SO doesn't take "issue" with most of this stuff either because he's just as bad!! lol

It doesn't matter what we buy and SD13 takes it home her mother says its trashy!! I don't buy her trashy stuff, her mother just wants to make us look like we don't care about her. That we want her to look trashy. It's just crazy!! I have seen pictures of things she wears at her mothers house and it is no different than what she wears at our house or what we buy her.

I also quit buying stuff for SD. No appreciation, and the expectation that I would buy her stuff all the time, and I just stopped. She isn't my child, so I am not using my money for her anymore. I can spiff up my work wardrobe and take care of my own children with the money, thank you. If you want to be ungrateful and pouty, go ahead. Dad will not buy into it and he will not spoil her with stuff.
