Done with Lunches
SD11 came home with lunch barely touched. This is after I worked with her on what she wanted. She told her dad a story about some event during lunch time that they weren't allowed to bring their lunches to.
So taking her at her word (the school district here is really bad at keeping a free lunch period for kids) I said I was going to contact the principal about it (I am with an advocacy group to fight the abysmal lunch system).
SD11 pipes up: Actually they let us bring our lunches to the gym.
DP: So you could eat then?
SD11: yes, but no one hardly was.
DP: That doesn't mean you can't eat.
SD11: silence
DP: You understand Cover1 makes time to put your lunc together so you not eating wastes not only food but her time. Do you want to get some things so you can start making your own lunches?
SD11, weakly: yeeesss
Ok so good! No more lunch making for SD11!
DP also had a talk with her about lying about the lunch hour (whoooo she wasn't expecting to get caught!).
Later I confirmed the DP will be taking SD11 to store for lunch supplies, not me.
AND I told him he has to STOP buying giant chocolate bars for them as a 'snack.' WTF? DP wonders why they have such bad eating problems?
"Here, have a massive chocolate rather than an apple darling" hello!

Please stick to your guns,
Please stick to your guns, from one used stepmom to another! It's not your problem whatever she takes or eats from now on. Repeat as necessary!
I don't worry about her food
I don't worry about her food much any more, just note the blatant things with DP. I have been helping with lunches because it's easier than getting them up and fed and out the door in the mornings, we have a very early tight schedule. But DP knew I would stop if it happened again. So I am! Yay!
