Dear ST, my beloved husband passed away last night after a tragic bicycle accident (no vehicles involved) on Monday. I cannot begin to describe how I feel.  I will tell you that this site gave me the tools to be with him, to handle his SDs, and to vent freely and get really good feedback. It was invaluable because it gave us 12 years together, not nearly enough.

SD19 and BM were able to say goodby to him on Wednesday. It was a very good thing and BM was nothing but gracious, helpful and supportive of me. SD19 is devestated.

I've been SUPER busy so have not been here much at all...work has been awful (great job, great people, bad government decisions/rules), but for now I still have a job...we'll see how that is in the next 6 - 12 months.

My Sister Dodged One!

My sister had been casually dating this guy, nice guy overall. Nothing serious. 

Apparently last week they decided to have dinner at his place after a day running around doing things together since his son (14) would be at his mom's and she had the day off.  Good plan, right?

Summary....

She's almost 19, acts like a 10 yo still. Didn't bathe till this morning,  wash her face or brush her teeth. I know this because the towels I left for her were untouched until this morning. The day she leaves. I told DH the reason her hair looked so dark is because it was so dirty.

She gave DH a pack of dried seaweed that he likes for his gift (suspect it was from BMs cupboard). I got nothing. She gave us a house gift of two trivets she made in high school. Which is ok but obviously out of convenience.

It's been pretty chill. I was exhausted yesterday, messed up the gravy, overbaked turkey by a few minutes. Not my usual standards. But veg and potatoes were good. And the champs. Smile

YSD made her usual vegan meal, still barely any conversation out of her. She volunteers nothing. I gave up.

Hi all - it's been a bit but I've been super super busy with work and "real" life so haven't had time to poke my head in. I'll have to do some reading and catch up on everyone's situation, especially around the holidaze.

...has left the building.

Shell be on her way to college in six days. DH did good with her while she was here.

They talked, actually talked. He told her he and I were having some personal things to deal with and this I was in the guest room. He's out to dinner with her now, one last time before she goes back to BMs. She ate out TWICE while here, astounding.
