Teen Food Issue
...and we're off!
SD11 put back an empty milk carton into the fridge. This was found AFTER I got home from the store (she must have put it back after she had her morning cereal and was the only one to use it) on Sunday afternoon. The empty carton/bag thing has been a new ongoing issue with me and DP (I put it on him to fix) regarding SD11 in the last couple months.
Then last night as I was making dinner for DP and I, I discovered an empty box of Luna Smores protein bars. We use these in the SDs lunches or for emergency snacks. The box was 1/2 full on Saturday morning and was cleaned out, must have been, by Sunday night. These are expensive. SD11 is also not allowed to have food in her room due to leaving things to rot on multiple recent occasions. She's been told this directly several times by both of us.
Me: DP, I found MORE empty containers in the last two days. I will not deal with these any longer.
DP: noncomittal answer making it clear that he had NOT discussed this with SD11 yet.
Me: I am NOT maid. And I will NOT be replacing the bars. They are expensive. They aren't to be used AS a meal.
DP: Then she didn't eat much this weekend?
Me: No, she hardly ate anything except apparently Luna bars and Limonata.
DP: ...tries to deflect from SD11...
Me: I don't eat them, you don't eat them, SD9 doesn't eat them unless they are in her lunch. Who else is there? There was 1/2 a box, DP. I wouldn't have moved the BOX if there was only a couple left last week.
DP: Well....maybe x or y or z.
Me: Goes downstairs and checks SD11 trash. 4 cans of Limonata, 3 Luna bar wrappers (all from Sunday as she didn't set out her trash can till then)...DP, check her trash. There were also a couple wrappers in the normal trash when I gook it out. She. Ate. Them. All.
DP: ...deflect...deflect...did then state something to the effect that he didn't want the confrontation with SD11.
Me: You have to. She's not allowed food in her room and the first day she's in the new house she's already violated that rule. She didn't eat hardly any meals all weekend because she was full of Luna bars and lemon soda and whatever other crap she could eat. That's a problem. If I find ANY more food in her room I WILL act on it because moldy food is disgusting and should NEVER, EVER be in any bedroom. I won't replace the bars and I won't replace anything else that has an empty container left behind from now on.

OMG this was SD17 with the
OMG this was SD17 with the lazy ass crap... OR this used to piss me off almost as much as the empty shit.... the putting the potato chip bag back with just crumbs in the bottom? Bitch, nobody wants to eat the crumbs that you left after pawing your nasty hands through the chip bag. Or putting the milk back in the fridge with enough to left in the jug to fill a test tube? Like WTF is anybody going to use a milliliter of milk for???
It's just pure laziness. Bet your SD is a complete slob as well. Am I right?
oh daizy here's the silver
oh daizy here's the silver lining on that - i'd RATHER they put the damn nearly empty container back. over here they just leave that shit out all over the place... the counter, the table, the couch, the end table, by the front door, on the porch, under their beds, on their floor (usually tons of wrappers ect) on the dresser or nightstand, you name it.
just this morning there were four empty water bottles and two empty gatorade bottles IN THE FRONT YARD. thankfully unseen from the road or neighbors, but COME ON NOW.
i just left it for dh.
They were probably saving the
They were probably saving the empty bottles for pee jugs... geesh Tuff! NOW what are they going to do??
This happens too Tuff. Empty
This happens too Tuff. Empty containers put back AND shit left everywhere. She almost left a whole bowl full of noodles on the couch the other night. I watched her walk to the stairs and then made her turn around and take care of it. She'll not be eating on the couch again.
Yes Daizy, complete slob. As
Yes Daizy, complete slob. As long as it's contained to her bedroom (with no food) I don't give a shit. But as soon as it's in shared space, I'm all over it. I collect things and throw them out or give them to Goodwill on a regular basis. Just this weekend I threw shoes out the front door since they were laying in front of it in everyone's way.
DP is messy too. I have to get all over him sometimes too. She sees that and follows it. Plus genetics. SD9 is almost a clean freak so that's in my favor.

For the four Cheerios she left behind. Duh.

Right? My DH didn't get why I
Right? My DH didn't get why I didn't want to eat popcorn out of the same bowl as his daughter.
This is the same guy who would never EVER let anybody, even his own daughter, use the same comb/brush as him.
I'd rather share food with my
I'd rather share food with my cats.
SHARING with SKIDS
Exactly!!! My SS licks his fingers, bites nails, never washes hands and I hate for him to touch anything in my house, especially food. We all had to share salsa at a restaurant this weekend. He laid his chips on the table, then picked them up and dipped into the community salsa bowl. Ewwww.
My Skids are only allowed to
My Skids are only allowed to eat chips out of a bowl. For this exact reason AND they don't have portion control. Give them the entire bag and they will eat the entire bag. SO just can't get this through his stupid head. Just last weekend he handed SS a brand new bag of chips. I said NO and took it back. He can have some in a bowl not the whole bag.
YES. I have been working on
YES. I have been working on the bowl thing. 1) portion control and 2) gross hands. SD11 didn't shower for an entire week. So much for her being exited about having her own bathroom and towel set. I don't care about that any longer. DP can deal with that.
In our former house I would
In our former house I would be the only one of four of us changing TP. I had enough the last month and just had my own secret roll. The rolls were empty for days and I don't want to know what the hell everyone else did. At least DP showers. I did have to throw away a pair of SD9 underwear and suspect I'll have another to throw away this week when I do laundry. Before that I show DP...he gets disgusted but does anything change? Nope.
OMG! Me too! Do they never
OMG! Me too!
Do they never go #2? What do they do? No one but me changes the roll. They might...might...throw away the empty but they N E V E R put on a new roll.
SS12 leaves water bottles and
SS12 leaves water bottles and gatorade bottles EVERYWHERE!!! He's a quiet little sneaky kid so we don't know if he is eating anything in his room until the dog drags the wrappers, plates, etc through the hallway.
DH went in there Sunday night and he has a half eaten lollipop that I bought him for Valentines day stuck to the top of his dresser!
Next week its "purge" time. DH tells him to clean his room 3 times. It is never done - for some reason the kid thinks DH will just forget about it. If its not done he puts everything except the furniture into bags and locks them in the shed. SS12 has to then get one bag at a time and clean it out. He does this once a year LOL
SD's crap is going in bags
SD's crap is going in bags this weekend but it's going in the trash. I pay Skids to do chores and cleaning their bedroom is one of the chores. Well, anything left on her floor or under her bad Saturday after she lies and says her room is clean is going in the trash and I'm going to stand in her room and make HER fill the bags up.
I keep all food I intend to
I keep all food I intend to eat separate from pantry. For same reasons as most others have posted, skids are not clean, I won't eat after them.
