I've taken a break from ST for a little while. I thought I'd share the recent good news.

A short background for context: FDH has had physical custody of his 3 kids for the past 10 years. BM is a mess and a dead beat. She hasn't paid child support or a couple of years. The court forbid overnight visitation over a year ago. She's seen her two boys once in the past year (Christmas) and sees her daughter on average one day a month for a few hours.

A few weeks ago the dept of child support enforcement took her to court for non-payment of child support. We've been in court so often the judge recognized BM and grilled her unmercifully about how she intended to come up with the child support she owes (>$10k). The judge sentenced her to 120 in jail for civil contempt!!! She delayed the sentence until May. If BM is not fully compliant and paid up the CS, she WILL go to jail.

My favorite part of the hearing was when the judge said to BM: "You are managing to put food in your mouth everyday...you are selfish in thinking it's not your responsibility to feed your children...Every time you are in my courtroom you're seeing your children less and less. If you have not paid up the arrears and fully compliant I assure you, you will be in jail."

We just learned that BM got caught by the bank (and her parents) lying trying to take out a business loan from the bank. It'll be interesting to see how low she'll go to stay out of jail.

I know many of you don't find justice in the courts. We've been very fortunate that the judges in this county see thru her b.s.
